But I guess I just wanted to clarify- I’m not sure which way to go would be more fun for me! Most of my fun in this is the reactions I get from people, the interaction, the engagement with you guys! I feed off of you guys enjoying this! Which is why I asked in the first place-

Which one would you guys enjoy more? Would you still interact with this blog if it moved to OCs? Would you still interact with it if it stayed like this? That sort of stuff. Because whatever you guys want and will have fun with and interact with, I’LL have more fun with it, seeing you guys interact and react! Especially since this specific concept feeds off of follower interaction... explicitly. I’ve already stated, this world is directly influenced by you all.

First and foremost, I wanted to apologize for the abrupt hiatus. College picked up, life in general started kicking my ass, stuff started to go to shit for a while, and during all of that I sort of fell out of my HLVRAI hyperfixation. I still love it, don’t get me wrong! I’m just not as active in it as I used to be.

However... I still really like the premise of this blog a lot, and have been thinking about it again recently. But... I wanted some input from you guys.

I’ve been thinking a lot, and I’ve come up with two ideas:

1. Simply continue this blog, but much more sparsely. I might try to do a weekly mass post/update, instead of daily like I used to. It’ll be pretty slow, but will eventually get done. My muse for writing hlvrai is a tad shot, but there’s a chance actually doing this might bring it back. It’s a gamble. Pros are that this is already started, people like it, a lot of sprites and art has been done for it, and it does have a unique spin by using HLVRAI characters (as... out of character as they may be). Cons are that my muse for hlvrai is down, this au does make people kinda ooc, and a lot of people (not just me) have lost muse for HLVRAI, of which my audience is limited to only active HLVRAI fans.

2. Honestly, this AU is SO so so far removed from anything remotely canon... to the point I’ve been considering setting this blog aside and archiving it, and starting this whole plot (of which you’ve only gotten a tiny smidge of a taste) over with original characters. Pros are that this might be better for my muse, would potentially appeal to a wider range of audience, and would fit some characters I’ve had floating around as concepts that wouldn’t fit into most of my other stories. I might just also.. have more fun with it? Since there’s no rules binding me to characterization of the HLVRAI characters. I can do my own stuff!!! Cons are that I do have to restart and also it might be harder to get an audience started for non-fandom content...

“I- I didn’t forget, I just... thought it was just another weird thing. I didn’t think I died, because if I died, then I... wouldn’t be here, right? Death isn’t something- you don’t just die and wake up again!”

“Unless all this weird shit gave me the ability to respawn. Multiple lives or whatever.”

“...Oh god, what if I’m in a video game!? If I am, this game sucks. I wanna be in Minecraft or some shit.”

“I died? What do you mean I died!?”

“And what do you guys mean about all these deaths? I don’t- I haven’t died before, if I did I... I wouldn’t be here. RIght? Right.”

“It means you died! And obviously you did, because I had to spend a hefty amount of playcoins to revive you and prevent you from moving on to the next area! You’re lucky you still had your duffel bag with you.”

“...But...”

IT’S NOT....

It’s just... a big give an take. You guys are, in part, responsible for some of the choices he makes, and how the world is shaped. And leading him into danger and potential death is one of your options... because there’s a choice here.

One of the biggest themes of this blog is safety and complacency vs. pain and truth. Choosing the safe path will reward you with safety, amongst other things, but at the cost of potentially missing out on things. Choosing the dangerous path can net you big rewards and truths and hints, but can take a pretty big toll on Benrey physically and mentally, and might just turn out worse in the long run... or maybe not!

That’s not to say either path is lesser, of course. They all have their pros and cons, depending on the situation.

Also ooc but I never answered this ask cus I thought it was so funny i kept looking at it and debating on how to answer it but. theres too many good options so just take it im cryghgnigng thats kinda exactly whats been happening

> Benrey blinks, looking up at Dr. Coomer. And then he immediately rolls over, starting to cough. He hacks up enough green sludge to make even Dr. Coomer wince, who reaches out to gently pat his back. 

> When Benrey can finally somewhat breathe again, he takes stock of his surroundings. He himself is still covered in goo, but it looks like his face has been wiped off so he can see at the very least. He’s sitting on a slimy slab of concrete, a long, thin strip on the bank of the sludgy green river, still down in the tunnel. Though it appears he’s much farther down than he was when he’d gone under, considering there’s an actual walkway now. 

> His hat and his bag are both laying beside him, wet from the sludge. Benrey reaches out to snag his hat, putting it back on despite the sliminess.

“What... the fuck happened?”

> He winces at how hoarse his voice is.

“Fuck- okay! Y-yeah, I can-”

> Benrey shifts to try and get the duffel bag off of him, and manages to slide it off of his shoulder- but it catches his arm as it suddenly sinks, yanking him down.
