The Firefighting 'Culture' of how probationary firefighters are treated like subhumans, shunned, ignored, and left to take care of menial station tasks instead of working together as a shift is such a dogshit 'culture' and needs to die, lol. I get that people have to 'earn their place,' but this lazy mentality is unacceptable. If dudes won't help to cook, clean, and won't actively teach and be good mentors instead of being limp dick arrogant dudes with authority fantasies, then they should consider leaving the Fire Service or EMS.
In my four years, never once did I ask a new hire or one of my trainees to do a task I wasn't going to actively help with, discuss, contribute to, teach, or train them on.
I HATE bad leaders with a passion. Even worse are the shitty and arrogant personalities that are scheduled together in the same station that just feed off each other's lazy, insecure, and pompous demeanors. This also applies to Lieutenants and Captains. There may be a little leeway with them, but damn, take some pride in being a role model and leader instead of beating new minds into submission.

- Same dudes who say really creepy and inappropriate shit about young teen girls from calls around the dinner table at the station. Or same dudes you see in the news six years later for sending dick pics to minors. Never fails.
