For the crazy WAH people.

Hello my WAH friends! I have been gone a while.

So Arise was a bust and now I’ve been working for an online company but it doesn’t seem to be panning out the way I expected.  Not as many hours as I would like/need.

Today I was offered a position as a VA.  It sounds promising.  I hope it’s legit.  I’m also still teaching.  Classes are picking up as we swing into summer.  I have an interview for another job next week (not work from home).  If I get this position I will still be keeping my other jobs as well.   I’m also looking at some customer service WAH jobs.

My house still isn’t sold.  I hope it’s finished soon and sold fast.  The faster the better.  I just want to be done with it.

We are currently drowning in debt but I see a light at the end of the tunnel.  I’m very grateful to have such a supportive partner.  I have nearly everything small removed from my mobile.  We need to finish the gutters, fix some screens, and carpet, clean and she is ready to sell.  It was pretty awesome owning my first home even if it was only for a short while.  I’ll be happy to sell her to someone who can love her and will enjoy living in that community as much or more than I did.  I’ll also be grateful to not be paying lot rent, water, and electricity. lol.   

After she’s sold then I can turn my focus to this house and help get everything in order here.  I can also turn my focus to clearing my own personal debt.

I quit working for the current company  I like a challenge and some praise and there was neither going on there.  In a month I only talked to 2 people my direct supervisor and 1 person from my class; the only person other than myself that managed to keep going.

in less than 2 weeks I ranked #8 out of all 4 sites handling calls for.  I heard crickets from management.   It’s one thing if I’m an independent contractor and I’m out there on my own.  When I work for a company and I make it to rank 8 among all cities and there are only like 4 people in our entire company I should get some sort of praise as a new person.

I know what I’m going to say next is going to shock some of you.  I made over $300 in bonuses in my first month there from very, very little effort.  I had to quit.  It’s obvious I wasn’t valued as an employee, it’s obvious that they only cared about having the queue cleared and people make “sales.”   I put my heart into a job for the past nearly 3 years where I was treated the same way except I was a manager.  I can’t do that again.  So I quit.

Right now I’m training for a project and I start work on another project on June 5th.   Once completed I will have 3 jobs.  With these 3 jobs I make my own hours,  I have a minimum amount of hours I can work for each but 2 of the jobs I will only be limited by what I can take on as far as the number of hours I work.

Sorry I’ve been absent for a while.  I’m in the slow process of moving.  Since I have time on my side for once I’m just moving little stuff via car loads a few days a week.  Once I have most of the stuff out we will rent/borrow a truck to move all of the heavy stuff.

My 2 jobs are going great.  I would love to switch to part-time at my full-time job.  I’m great at it but I’m already getting bored with it.  I need more adventure, more challenge.  I guess for the time being I’ll just work on perfecting everything so I can do something bigger there.  I’ve already let my leader know I have my eyes on the training department.   I want to teach...I want to coach and develop people.  I don’t want to manage anymore.

My teaching job is going fantastic.  I’m getting more and more bookings. If I can make it to teaching 3 hours a day every day then I wouldn’t need any other jobs.  I could spend my time how I want and really enjoy life.   

I worked for Alpine Access/Sykes for about 3.5 years from home as a customer service agent and a team leader.  

I’m currently an ESL teacher and I’m training to be a Sales Brand Ambassador for another company.  

I made it through Monday.  This week I’m still teaching in the morning and training in the evening.  Next week starts my first real week “on the floor.”   Hopefully I can remember all of the screens and everything I’m supposed to say.

Despite feeling exhausted (because I’m still working on going to bed at a decent time) I feel much more relaxed.  Right now I don’t have anyone looking over my shoulder.  That feeling.....it’s like freedom.  

This freedom I now have makes me want to explore more options.  For once in my life I have a completely supportive significant other.  He is helping me with my finances and we are really working on building a life together.  He’s supportive of my dreams and my current ambitions.  

I’m so exhausted from my first day back being WAH.  I need to find a better balance between my 2 main jobs.   My first job allows me to basically make my own schedule so that’s fantastic.  I need to use that to my advantage.

So I couldn’t sleep well last night.  I was up until 3am thinking about business and bills.  I went for a walk to take my rent check to the night box.  It was incredibly peaceful. 

I never knew that there were so many different types of frogs/toads in the reservoir.  I could distinctly hear tree frogs, bull frogs, and toads.  There were at least 5 different sound types singing.  It was amazing to just listen to it all.  It was mesmerizing.

I feel like today is my first day of freedom.   Now my income is up to me.  Maybe I will be able to focus and complete some of the projects I’ve been working on.

I have to say I am sad.  Last night many of my agents gathered to say their goodbyes,  Hopefully we will all stay in touch.  They’ve definitely been a big part of the last nearly 3 years of my life.

I’m really curious as to what everyone’s home offices look like.   Right now I have 2 home offices.  I own a mobile and I have an office set up in the smaller bedroom.  I use the room as an office, class room, and sort of a zoo.  I share the room with my lizard army.  Hopefully the army will be downsizing soon.  

I also have a walk-in closet that I use as an office and classroom at my boyfriend’s house.  He has a decent size house and the closet is located in the band room which is soundproofed.  It’s more of a temporary office.

I’m working on my plan for after I sell my place and completely move into his property.  I want to get a large shed and finish it to make it a home office, studio, and spare bedroom.

It will be wired for electricity and plumbing but only hooked up to the electricity.  It already has a small loft included but I would like to make that larger and provide some sort of ladder access.

I look forward to Monday and actually starting to learn this new program.  I’m thankful I’m tech savvy.  I just sat for 3 hours listening to others get through their tech hurdles.  Some were legitimate and some were of course user error.  Unfortunately not everyone is on an even playing field when it comes to technology.  

I thought I was going to be “at work” until 9pm.  Since I’m out early I’ll try to get caught up  on all the projects I’m behind on.  I know I’m several posts behind on my reviewing blog and I haven’t even been able to launch my career consulting site.  So much to do.....
