I'm Haunted By Humans

"Seriously? Wow, thank you." She blinked, a little astonished— the other woman’s intention had been clear before she said anything, but it was still a surprising sentiment, and Sophie was grateful. She extended her hand to shake with Barbie’s. "Sophie Claveaud. Nice to meet you."

"Yeah, yeah no problem, man. Just thought I should thank you in some way." Barbie enjoyed this girls presence she seemed very modest and nice which was a refreshing thing to see in a person, "It's a pleasure meeting you Sophie, you can get whaever you want it's all on me." 

“I do,vampires usually say that I look like a baby to them”.She smiled softly.It did come as a shock to people to find out she was that old,they would guess that she was a baby vampire because of her being so happy and positive while they were being stuck up. “It really does feel like less time,I sometimes can’t believe I’ve been one for so long myself”.She looked away from Barbie and noticed the hospital getting closer and closer to them. She could wait any longer but she knew she had to be patient.

"I actually thought we were gonna be around the same age. Most vampires underestimate me because I’m nice, it’s a shame really." Barbie mused Barbie thought it was so interesting how long Luna has been around, "You’ve seen so many things happen though, so many styles change especially. I’ve just been around for the discos and the crazy music festivals, and after was the 80’s which was a complete trainwreck." Barbie remarked she had always loved history, the 20’s in her opinion was the most glamorous. As she stepped inside the hospital she had a hint of excitement to her she tried her best to conceal her smile so she didn’t seem like a crazy person.

             Regardless, emerald hues followed each one — the bursts of color making him miss Adrien as it had felt he hadn’t seen the other in ages. A small smile tugs on his features though at the thought of the witch boy — feet swishing a bit in the manner of a lovesick little puppy, because that’s what he was. He’s so caught up in his thoughts that he doesn’t notice a person approaching him as the bursts of curls light up his features.

She walked along the park  with little firecrackers making gunshots noises everytime she threw one at the ground with each step. As she ran out and grew tired of walking she looked for a bench to rest at. The one annoyance about the fourth of july was that she couldn't feed almost everyone she encountered was drunk, the thought of that grossed her out. The more she approuched the bench her smile grew at the sight of a familar face, "And what are you doing here all by your lonesome?" She commented.

She was cautious; Sophie didn’t know this woman, and while telepathy, common sense, and well-rounded training had kept her out of trouble before, it was no reason to be foolishly reckless. Especially without knowing if this stranger was hungry, on top of everything else.

"I guess it was worth it, I mean I would look like an idiot if I put it back after all that." Barbie joked. As she found her wallet and checked her wallet for money she calculated that she most likely had enough, "Hey, I guess I could get you something from the cafe upstairs. You've been so kind and all...I'm Barbie by the way."

             "Yes. Actually," He replies then with a roll of emerald hues, "That’d be the sensible thing for you to do anyways," He scrunches his nose then at the little nickname — a different reaction from the usual cringe he’d give before meeting Adrien — before being pulled out of the darkness. It’s funny to look back on it now and realize that he could be okay. He was okay.

"It was worth it though!" Barbie declared with a smirk Barbie was a little suprised that Caleb hadn't rolled his eyes or looked completely disgusted at the nickname, she wasn't complaining though she was happy that Caleb was happy. It was kind of a feeling a mom gets when her child graduates or something.

"Yeah, well, you’re not much of a surprise these days." Her fingers twitched. It would be much easier to just tilt her neck, pull aside her hoodie, let Barbie see what Sam had done to her throat, what a mess he’d made of her, but that felt like a violation. It would be like stripping naked. "You’d be surprised who knows shit these days."

"I'm not much of a surprise in a town like this, People are more ignorant in the bigger cities, I prefer those much more although the school pay is shit." Barbie bit her lip out of an uneasy feeling. The girl looked off about something, she saw the same thing in the kids she talked to at the school. She looked at different things thinking if she should ask what was wrong. What was the worst that could happen?, "Uhm...are you ok?, you seem a little uhm uneasy." Barbie blurted out awkwardly.

Luna laughed joyfully as Barbie began to join her in jumping through the streets. She always tried her best to keep happy and positive around her kind. “I have been a vamp for…a hundred and fifty years,what about you”. She looked at her with her bright blue eyes,it was the first time in a long time that she had told anybody how old she really was. It felt good to have somebody around to share stories of their lives as vampires.

"A hundred and fifty, wow you make me look like a baby." Barbie laughed she couldn't believe Luna was that old, she would always assume that the ones who were older were uptight at least from the ones she's met, "I've been doing this for 35 years, It feels like only a decade though." She sighed. As they were getting closer to the hospital she just wanted to start sprinting but went against her wishes, she didn't want to make a fool out of herself espeicially in front of another vampire.

"…The coast is clear, you know," she called out, in a sotto tone. "If you get up now, they’ll just think the book fell.”

             "Is your face okay?" He asks, still obviously amused, "You could have asked someone for help, you know."

"You didn’t offend me, it’s just a weird thing to assume, you know? You gotta get better at covering that shit up. Hipster. They like that shit. Old shit. Records and stuff." Lizzie smiled slyly. "Better to be one of those than what you really are. At least when people ask."

"I don't really care if someone figures it out, they'll look crazy and be put away. But I guess it's never bad to be careful" Barbie confessed, what she had said was kind of a lie though, she did care but no one in three decades and multiple states had noticed because most people thought something like Barbie was something from fairytales and movies, "No one's really asked, you're the first human I've met that's known." 

"Alright then follow me".She laughed as they made their way down the streets. Luna decided to dance a little in excitement,she must have looked like a new vampire,happy to get a feed to Barbie but she was having fun.

Barbie couldn't help but join in when Luna was jumping around in the streets. Luna's joyfullness was a contagious feeling, "Luna, if you don't mind me asking...how long have you been a vamp?" Barbie asked, she had hoped she could reminisnce about the golden years with Luna because she hadn't been able to do that after Eugene, She wanted to but it gave her a stinging pain where she could only squeak out a few words. 

"Um…" He sputtered a bit, before looking at the floor, which suddenly became more interesting than their conversation; but he quickly recovered when she said most vamps aren’t as nice as lil ol’ me. With a sigh of relief, the doctor nodded and glanced back up at her. “Hah… Yeah…” Andy rubbed the back of his neck nervously, a chuckle escaping him. He wasn’t very good at conversing unless he was making a fool of himself unintentionally or giving a lecture about something that likely no one cared about. Currently, he was doing the former.

"So what are some things you like?" Barbie asked, she felt that the conversation had taken a narcissistic turn and to be quite frank was never comfortable when a conversation was focused on her, "You also seem to have a common knowledge on the creepy crawlers this place is home to, How are you not dead yet?" Barbie asked mindlessly. Out of all the places she's been to, New Orleans is the least secretive place for supernatural beings and she found it a little concerning.
