Here’s a little insight into my process. I use Jira to organize my projects. This helps not only in making sure different parts of the project happen when they need to, but it also helps in estimating how much time each phase will take. I also use spiral methodology when doing builds that have a high material cost. It is an iterative process that puts emphasis on low cost prototypes. I haven’t been in the shop much over the past couple months but I decided to make a little dish just to test out the bowl bit for the router. This isn’t my best work because it was rushed. We have a stray cat in the backyard who we named Lemon, hence the color choice. They’re too nervous to let us get close so we can’t bring them inside but since it’s getting pretty cold I decided to make a shelter. The walls, floor, and roof all have 1” foam insulation sandwiched between plywood. It’s not as good as a heated house but there are some blankets in there for them. Making some body jewelry displays and business card holders for @lerouxbodyarts. We’re up to every woodworkers favorite part: sanding. There are definitely a lot of wood species represented here. These two litter box holders are complete, for now. They're sized so the cats can lay in front of the window, which they love. The one on the right won't get its doors for another week or two until after I'm sure they'll use the boxes with doors on it. The area that gets blocked off in the corner is great for hiding spare litter and cleaning things. This was all made from construction 2X4s. For this look I first stain the wood gray, then paint white with latex paint, then sand through the paint with 60 grit sandpaper, then finally spray 3-4 coats of laquer. https://www.instagram.com/p/CRNN2NYDpNO/?utm_medium=tumblr

My cutting board finishing process part 1. 1. After final sanding of 180 grit, spray the boards with water to raise the grain. When dry lightly sand with 220 grit. 2. Spray again and then lightly sand with 320 grit. 3. Soak the boards in an oil bath for 30 minutes, then let them drain for 30 minutes. 4.
