Stuffed S'more Cookie Bars
@metal-queer-solid You need this on your blog.
from this article, which is well worth the read, if only for the fun of seeing zuck get dunked on
"The Multi-Billion Dollar Lemon" should be the name of the movie they make, "The Big Short"-style, about the AI bubble popping, the criminal incompetence, short-sightedness, and neglect of many of the key figures, and the economic tribulations that follow.
If you read the reports, the reflecting pool was contaminated by a group of people who poured in reactants and an aggressively invasive species of algae into it. This was vandalized by a group of leftist extremists who decided it would be justified to contaminate the water in violation of several EPA and legal statutes. This didn't happen over time, it happened very quickly. Anyone with a pool knows that's not possible unless someone really fucked up and didn't take care of their pool for many, many months. Seriously, a lot would have to have gone wrong -- Pumps failed along with dechlorination and pH imbalance.
This image shows a maintenance vehicle with several individuals around it who were neither National Park nor Federal employees. The equipment you see deployed is pumping chemicals into the reflecting pool. The "Team Algae" individuals (several wearing shirts like this) were pouring in the non-native algae (cyanobacteria) from small buckets.
Keep in mind that the "Left" prides themselves as champions and protectors of the Environment, but here they are violating that notion by specifically inducing an ecological threat to the local environment. Algae does not just "stay in the water." As the water heats, it blooms and lowers the oxygen levels both in the water and in the local atmosphere while it releases noxious and greenhouse gasses that are harmful to Humans and animals. As the water evaporates, it spreads the algae to nearby moist environments where it could flourish under the shade of trees and infect the roots with lethal chemicals as the algae dies off or consumes the nutrients in the soil.
Harmful algal blooms grow in water and can make you and your pets sick.
Algae does not just sit on the surface of water. The "yellowed" sediment on the bottom of the reflecting pool is dead algae. The chemicals pumped into the water is denser than the water which then sat on the surface of the paint and damaged it and caused the peeling. It's the chemical that was introduced to do this which is killing bacteria that comes into contact with it. The area of the peeling nearest the edge is where the chemicals were introduced.
If you've ever taken care of a pool, you know exactly why this is not normal. The water of the reflecting pool is chlorinated and processed through filters much like a pool. This is for public safety and just generally to prevent this from happening. However, agents can be used to neutralize the chlorination, alter the pH balance of the water, and incite an algae bloom. These same agents cause the chlorination to become reactive to materials such as paint.
It's been said by the first image that it was hydrogen peroxide (HāOā), but this would not be used in the reflecting pool because it is reactive to chlorine. The proper way to address algae is through chlorination and biocides to shift the pH just outside the range where bacteria can flourish. The truth of the matter, given the images showing the damage to the reflecting pool, it's very likely an unintelligent mixture of hydrogen peroxide and sodium thiosulfate (NaāSāOā) was used. The resultant reaction would create sulfuric acid (HāSOā).
Sulfuric acid is heavier than water, with a density of about 1.84 g/cm³ compared to water's 1 g/cm³. This explains why the lower most portion of the reflecting pool in the center is where the bulk majority of the yellowed (dead) algae is. Meanwhile, the peeling reactions around the edges is due to the hydrogen peroxide mixing with the sulfuric acid due to convection currents. It is also why the algae is lighter at the edges and the "blue" color is lighter.
Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent, yes, but when mixed with the sodium thiosulfate -- which I believe was added to expedite the reaction to the paint -- creates not only the sulfuric acid that sinks to the bottom, but increases the sodium sulfate concentration. The pictures indicate a rudimentary understanding of chemistry but a complete disregard for Human, animal, and plant life. The chemicals appear to have been directly pumped in and not diluted. The sudden change is indicative of highly concentrated forms of the chemicals used. Sodium sulfate generation at this level produces gas at the perimeter that is highly corrosive to mucous membranes, leading to eye and respiratory damage.
This isn't funny. It's not vandalism. This is extremely dangerous and has not only introduced an invasively aggressive algae species into an incompatible environment, but also has produced dangerous toxins and gasses that are harmful to Humans, and potentially lethal to animals and plants.
Ecoterrorists. These people need to go to prison for a very, very long time.
So, let's go over everything Wizards of the Coast is trying to do this coming year.
>Erasing everything that made DnD fun
>Sanitizing everything to appease a minority of leftist puritans
>Making anyone who wants to play DnD pay microtransactions
>Making anyone who makes anything based off of DnD pay royalties to Wizards of the Coast
I hope the company fucking crashes and burns, Hasbro failed to claim TSR as their own now we just need it all to crash and burn so TSR can make a big comeback.
Wait, what do you mean Microtransactions? For a tabletop game? HOW?
Hasbro executives believe that the Dungeons & Dragons brand is heavily under-monetized, with moves [...]
They're planning on making all DnD content switch over to digital only eventually, meaning any source material can only be accessed through DnD beyond, and the ones being charged won't just be the DMs, it'll be players too as they'll lock everything behind a pay wall that you need to pay into to play.
They'll most likely disable any ability to share the content with others, meaning each person wanting to play will need to buy access to the content.
BTW the new DnD CEO was a former Microsoft employee who was instrumental in implementing ever more microtransactions in video games.
Theyāve switch the President of the D&D portion of WotC a couple times over the last few years. Mearls was an idiot, but then they replaced him with Ray Winninger, a guy who at least had some background in RPGs and Tabletop hobbies, but was clearly hired because of his background in trying to force tablet and app integration into games (which failed). Things under Winninger apparently didnāt impress the higher-ups. New guy, Dan Rawson, is a nepotistic pick from the current WotC President, Cynthia Williams, who also worked at Microsoft with Rawson. Williams is the one above being quoted about not monetizing their brands enough, Rawsonās entire career has been monetizing and e-commerce.
WotC has been a fucking terrible company for years. Thereās been more than enough reasons to dump them entirely over the past decade, but over the past few years theyāve made a dedicated effort to prove that it can absolutely get worse. Theyāre currently trying to sell piece-meal content from their books on the DNDBeyond website.
Individual feats, stat blocks, items, and anything else they can break up. Itās cheaper to just buy the whole thing instead, but this shit shouldnāt even be an option. Theyāre doing this because theyāre trying to see what they can get away with. They will try worse. They will do worse. They will try to stamp out competition.Ā
People will make excuses that they can just keep playing 5e and keep using homebrew, but they need to stop making excuses for why itās okay to support WotC indirectly and WotC will continue to see what they can get away with because not enough people will have abandoned them to make an impact on their profits.

Fuck off @staff
I hate - HATE - sharing this because of the idiotic comment OP made about 'leftist puritans'. It marks them out as one of the old-school neckbeards who demand racial essentialism and exclusionism, the kind for whom gatekeeping is a fucking badge of honour. They probably think people actually care that they've played obscure older editions. Thankfully the later contributions by saner people make it worthwhile.
>racial essentialism
Mate, acknowledging there would be physiological and biological differences between species isn't being a racial essentialist you leftist puritan.
Remember kids, gatekeeping isn't bad, it's essential to keeping any hobby or IP you enjoy from being destroyed by those who hate it, like this Trog.
This Drive folder has like 100 3.5 books, please rb
I bring thee the Ultimate 3.X SRD Project:

I think I found my new favorite rabbit hole. This voice actor does Shakespeare scenes in a southern accent and I need to see the whole damn play. Absolutely beautiful
if you're not from the us american south, there's some amazing nuances to this you may have missed. i can't really describe all of them, because i've lived here my whole life and a lot of the body language is sort of a native tongue thing. the body language is its own language, and i am not so great at teaching language. i do know i instinctively sucked on my lower teeth at the same time as he did, and when he scratched the side of his face, i was ready to take up fucking arms with him.
but y'all. the way he said "brutus is an honourable man" - each and every time it changed just a little. it was the full condemnation Shakespeare wanted it to be. it started off slightly mock sincere. barely trying to cover the sarcasm. by the end...it wasn't a threat, it was a promise.
christ, he's good.

I just googled this and⦠yes, itās absolutely real.
And there are so many articles and videos and discussions. Like, the scientific community is buzzing about this.
So much research will have to be redone because the data was absolutely compromised, off by orders of magnitude, by using standard lab gloves.
The world is probably not horrifically contaminated by microplastics. Sterile laboratories, however, are contaminated by latex and nitrile gloves.
Thank God someone bothered to check.
