The cycle can work in so many ways: one returns to the same world as one died in i.e. they can find their own corpse. One can wake up in a new cycle after death, where one self experiences waking up from death but once someone else dies they are gone from your pov. One can remember the failed cycle or not, pups can be tied to the cycle or need time to become entangled in it, aging can or may not exist, disease carries/doesnt carry over after death (exluding the rot, a separate but parasitic organism) ect

Artificer can very well be a genocidal abusive monster that cares for nothing but slaughter, but it can also be an exausted mess who regrets all their actions and wishes for nothing more than to no longer need to fight. only continuing their war because the scavangers (reasonably) see them as an existential threat that must be eliminated.

Slugcats can be simple animals or humal levels of inteligent or somewhere inbetween.

And so much more! I, for one, blend and mix all of these radically different interpretations to create radically different AUs that play out in such different ways because of the different rules and prerequisites. It is so freeing.

○ This artificer is no longer at war with scavangers and was accepted into gourms colony, how will they act now that they arent in constant fight or flight? How will their past come back into the narrative? What will the conses of their quences be?

It all can be harnessed to create all kinds of beautiful art. Why limit yourself by only subscribing to one interpretation when you can subscribe to all of them?

all right so you're probably asking "Asher. What on God's green earth does that mean and why would I care about your arms???"

Well to be quite honest, I have a big irrational fear of the arteries in my arms getting slit. This fear sadly affects me a lot. I can't even be in a room with my immediate family without feeling the need to cover the underside of my wrists to "protect" them. I especially hate it when someone whom I don't trust enough touches the underside of my wrists. Honestly, it terrifies me. I can't even sleep without covering my arms with a blanket because I'm scared.

So I know it sounds very stupid, but the fact that I would let YOU (yes, YOU) be in a room with me and even touch my arm without worrying is the highest trust I can give to someone and I hope you can see it that way.
