Chapter 2 of "On A Cold New Morning", my Arisen/Pawn DD2 fic. :)
Rhea is mean and refuses to let Beckett join her side, and Beckett goes on a soul searching journey across the rift. I had a lot of fun expanding pawn lore in this chapter.
For her, I don't headcanon her as pawn nor Arisen, and she exists outside of the main plot of DD2 (as an NPC basically). To me she is a (human) sister at the Gracious Hand, and the reborn DD1 Arisen. She fled from an arranged marriage to a noble to become a humble nun - one that works as a mortician and gravekeeper to ensure the dead are treated with respect and do not raise as undead. People are fascinated by her white hair and wonder if she carries elven blood. She is haunted by dreams of memories of a past life. From being once Seneschal, she can see the threads of fate that entwines mortals and can tug on them slightly to save them from death by illness and injury. One time she had walked into the sea hoping the Brine would take her, only to wake on the shore. From then on, she decided to take it as a sign to live on.
I am returned after X amount of years - needless to say, things have gone poorly. Doing better, but still long ways to go; hope to grow back into drawing along the way.
For now, here's a silly-ass mural-thingy I did out of pure joy after playing frankly embarrassing amounts of Dragon's Dogma Online - been aching after that thing for decades and now, finally, it is resurrected, thanks to the incredible folks over at WhiteDragonTemple! 💞
While I was terrified of papers, I did do an obscene amount of pixel art, up to and including a near-complete conversion of Doom for some reason?
Still haven't figured out whether I should just post all my stuff in one big messy pile, or make separate pages for traditional stuff and pixels... yadda yadda.
