Sister Monica Joan is found wandering near the docks, and returned to Nonnatus House by the police. Her adventure takes its toll on her health and she succumbs to pneumonia. When she eventually recovers, she sails forth back into the community, only to find herself in trouble with the law when she is accused of theft. As Sister Monica Joan's case progresses to trial, the Nonnatus House community fear that the old nun could find herself going to jail.

When Frank, the brother of Peggy, the cleaner at Nonnatus House, is diagnosed with cancer, Jenny and the nuns are called upon to provide him with care. In doing so, Jenny comes to know the siblings better, learning of their upbringing in a workhouse and the profound effect it has had on their relationship.

As Shirley's previous baby was stillborn, Sister Evangelina is also in attendance. Jenny has now been working in the East End for some time, and feels privileged to share such a precious part of these women's lives. Soon after Shirley gives birth, a bombshell drops; the newborn baby has been snatched from her pram, outside the Redmond household. A full-scale search is launched, and the entire community becomes involved in the quest to reunite the desperate parents with their child.

Doc, Dolls, and Wynonna are the life of the party, and if they don't act quick, they'll become the death of the party too, torn limb from limb by crazed town folk hungry for an antidote. Dolls and Doc toss Wynonna out the window (for her own good) and then start wading through the zombified crowd. Meanwhile, out on the border of Purgatory, Bobo and Willa are reminiscing about the time they used to spend with each other, and fantasizing about the time they're going to spend with each other — AKA eternity — as soon as they step over the line that separates Purgatory to an ever after where they can live in Revenant/Human harmony.

At the Earp residence, Willa gets reacquainted with her long lost sisters — a relation verified by a genetic test Dolls just got back from the lab. It takes her some time to feel at home, but thankfully Wynonna's brought something to ease the transition: booze. Speaking of booze, at Bobo's Saloon, the proprietor is sharing a drink with his buddy Judge Cryderman. The judge assures Bobo that he'll keep the Black Badge division off his back, and sweetens the deal with a gift: a collection of creepy green crystals that will somehow help the Revenant escape Purgatory. That is, after the Poker Extravaganza gets underway.
