Yesterday concluded our private beta.  We’d like to thank everyone that participated for their time and their feedback!  The app held up well, with only few tweaks needed before our September 1st launch.  We learned a lot from the beta and it gave us a great opportunity to test the social feed and other networking features.

After 3 months of hard work, we’re finally ready to launch our private beta.  This is big milestone for us and we are definitely pumped to be here!  We’re just looking to fix any bugs and tweak it based on our users’ feedback.  If you’re interested in being a part of our private beta, email us your device UDID and visit http://wkndr.me/beta.

This weekend marks the first major update for wkndr, outside of programming and development.  Not only are we going to Kingston to celebrate a friend’s birthday, but we are also going to meet some of the local bars and clubs.  We hope to get them on board with our idea, and possibly even sell a few spots on our Hottest page for September. 

This will be a major milestone for wkndr, and our first real foray into the world of business.  Until this point, we were safe to hide behind the veil of secrecy, void of any real pressures and it was quite nice.

However, I think I speak for the whole team when I say that this pressure is welcome.  We are excited, nervous, happy and scared to be this far in our progress.  It’s a real crazy mix of feelings, but I think that’s what a startup is all about.  I’m not going to say that it’s been a roller coaster ride, because it hasn’t. Yet. All I will say is that we’re enjoying the journey so far, and I believe we’ll enjoy it for a while longer.
