your room collects things over time. books you've actually read, page by page. a familiar who knows your name. a wand that chose you through a story. belongings you've earned and kept and arranged just so.

there are quests that go strange places. a world map that hides things in its quieter regions. shops with names like the unmarked door and nightshade & nettle. a garden of memory where candles are lit for people who mattered to us.

25 years ago, a small browser game called wizard mansion launched on the internet.

it had five magical residence halls. familiars. classes. message boards. a community of people who logged on every day because it felt like somewhere.

then it disappeared. quietly, the way small things on the internet do, one day they're simply gone.

i remembered what it felt like. so i built a new one.

not a restoration. not a revival. something new — original world, original art, original systems — built in the spirit of what that place meant. a love letter to the early internet. to the kind of online community that actually cared about itself.

i want to tell you what wizard mansion actually feels like.

it feels like logging on after a long day and knowing exactly where you're going. your hall common room. your familiar waiting. maybe a new chapter in the library, or a quest you left half-finished, or just the world map — wandering, finding things, being somewhere that isn't here.

it's a browser-based wizarding RPG. you make a character, join a hall, collect a familiar, attend classes, go on adventures, decorate a room, haunt the shops. there are real game systems — XP, gold, an economy, a live world map with other players on it.

but more than any of that, it's meant to be a place.

the internet used to have places like this. small, warm, community-driven. you knew the names of the people there. you had a corner of it that was yours.

wizard mansion is built in that spirit. original art, original world, moderated community, no ads, no algorithms. one person built it because they missed what the internet used to feel like.

i built a browser-based wizarding RPG by myself. it's almost done.
