Update on the concussion: I am at the hospital now and may or may not have literally forgotten our own collective name, blankly staring at the nurse who was calling it for a solid 15 seconds.
Anyway, I’m being discharged. They’re not overly concerned, but they have confirmed my brain was probably a bit jostled. I have survived.
Right. So, I believe I now have a concussion.
A very unfortunate set of circumstances has befallen me. I was getting a blood test, which was completely fine as I was having the blood drawn, but then as I went to leave the building, I suddenly collapsed backwards and hit my head.
I feel terrible for scaring the poor pathology assistant, apparently this was the first time she has seen someone drop like that. Apparently, I woke up and immediately asked if she was okay, and then followed it up by asking if I was currently asleep. Very reasonable priorities.
Ever since, which was about 45 minutes ago, I have been feeling nauseous and dizzy, I have been experiencing confusion about simple tasks like counting, my head has a strange pressure on the opposite side from where it apparently made contact with the floor, and my spatial awareness is completely off kilter. Even typing this post has taken an inordinate amount of effort.
I am going to be driven to the hospital shortly. This is truly, as my blog name suggests, a conundrum!
Being the unwilling “emergency academic alter” of this collective means that I am now, inexplicably, taking over to write a final paper.
The final, overdue paper, for a class that I have never gone to, on a topic that I know nothing about.
I will absolutely be requesting compensation from the others in my system once this ordeal is over.

I actually cannot begin to understand why a person would use generative AI to do things that their brain is perfectly capable of doing.
Your brain is a marvellous organ, incredibly more specialised and adaptable than any computer, and it is yours to use with absolutely zero environmental or intellectual consequence.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT is a sycophantic robot that could be, very easily, used by the United States government to commit mass surveillance. It is using billions of gallons of water a day, generating dangerous political propaganda, sending people (including children) into new forms of psychosis, and dramatically making people’s lives worse in low-income countries.
Your brain, thankfully, is physically incapable of doing any of the above, and is objectively a better computer than the AI is. You could literally just use your brain.
That organ in your noggin is one of the most beautiful feats of evolutionary brilliance in the world. Just have a little more faith in your brain to write the grocery list, or the email, or the essay.
Even if it is harder. Human effort is worth infinitely more than AI perfection.
I will soon be subjecting myself to watching the film Split (2016). I have heard it be described as a truly awful depiction of DID.
Of course, there are plenty of those. Most of which I would never bother watching.
However, then I heard the following description from one of my friends.
Apparently, the main antagonist has an “evil alter” who rips off his shirt when he fronts, and is able to climb walls in a manner akin to a muscular, bald-headed lizard.
…
What?
Sincerely, what?
I need to watch this. I must try to glimpse into what this film was trying to achieve. I have possibly never been more excited about anything in my life.
