a great thing about murderbot is that we're given the implication of these complex and intense queer relationships between many of the characters (mensah has a wife and a partner of indeterminant gender, both of whom are struggling to connect with her after her kidnapping; ratthi spends most of system collapse having some kind of messy on-again off-again thing with tarik, the widespread use of non-gendered pronouns and neopronouns, etc), but it all happens through the pov of murderbot, who is bored by romance and actively revolted by sex and thus paying as little attention to all of this as it possibly can. it's just such a great way of portraying a queernormative culture imo.
