Raph glanced at the person beside him after a solid ten minutes of staring at the ground, and then drifted his eyes upwards to the illuminated sign. What they had in common was that they were waiting for the bus, both somewhat wet from the sudden thunderstorm, and both probably wishing they were somewhere else. In happy yellow writing, the sign announced that the bus would be another half an hour later than it already was. The teenager thumped his palm on a metal pillar, dislodging a screen of raindrops on every side of the shelter. With a grunt, he took a seat beside the person (which he hadn’t yet done through sheer awkwardness). “Good thing I wasn’ in a rush. Are busses always this crappy?”

Perfect, awkward silence was present in the lift, until a tile shifted from above, and a snake started making its way down. Raphael had noticed once the reptilian head was poking through, and he took a big step back -- slamming himself into the opposite wall. “DUDE!”

“around the corner, d’you know how t’ use that? if it’s just for show, buddy, I’d just run.” except that he wouldn’t, raphael was simply suggesting a course of action of the other guy.

“Hey, you--” a pause, because he really didn’t want to ask this (and so grumpiness set on his face), “you got any spare change? Friend’a mine ain’ eaten in days an’ I’m not exactly rollin’ in dough.”

imagine like that scene where casey meets the bros in ninja turtles 2 and raph is with someone and the others show up and person b is like “holy shit!” and raph is like “nO it’s cool they’re my brothers” instinctively and then adds “i’m adopted” because that’d make it all. perfectly logical.
