minor mishaps.

NYC was fun but now back to the grind

            “  yeah,  exactly.  “  but there was one time  --  someone in the past saw him.  looked at him.  and for a minute,  he couldn’t get back to his own now  --  and that feeling was terrifying.  “  ‘just hard when you don’t know what you’re seeing is in front of you or people are just looking at you like your head is spinning.  “

           she seemed serious before,  but georgie relaxes when she smiles  --  and,  to her benefit,  she was warding off the guys that might come talk to her.  “  i’m georgie.  “  she reaches out her hand.

           “  i don’t really leave.  that’s the problem  --  “  he didn’t know how to explain it fully.  “  --  i know what i’m seeing is real.  in the past.  but i’m seeing it from the spot i’m in,  and people in the present time are still seeing  --  me.  and i have to get myself back to the now.  “ 

          “  yeah  --  “  georgie laughs,  glad she hadn’t taken that sip of her drink.  “  i’d believe it.  i’m a baby about those kinds of things  --  it’s just the atmosphere of it.  “ 

             “  i’ll get on it.  “  he quiets,  just for a second,  waiting to see if he’ll end up somewhere else.  “  --  this is the longest i’ve gone without going to a different place.  “ 

          “  i’ve never been here.  “  georgie admits,  looking around.  what was the date?  she would figure it out.  “  but i like new places.  “  she smiles wide.  “  new people.  “

            “  you’re looking at me like you don’t believe me.  “

           “  you have to let me think.  “  arlo doesn’t say that this was something new  --  making nicknames,  talking with someone who wasn’t off-put by the things he said,  who seemed invested in him.  “  i’ll know it’s right when i know.  “
