Radiation Treatment
Finally, a chance to update...
I know I've written previously about the intense pain I've been having and not being able to figure out what was causing it... well, we found it!
My spine - as per usual. There's a tumor compressing my spinal cord, trying to suffocate a few nerves and in turn, causing them to go crazy. More or less. There was a bit of back and forth on whether or not it was safe for me to do radiation again in the same area but there is a less than 5% chance that they'll paralyze me so hey - we'll take it. All bad jokes aside, my radiologist is spectacular and I trust his judgement 1000%. I crossed the halfway mark today, 3 treatments down and 2 to go! This is the least radiation I've ever gotten. Side effects haven't been brutal either. Some slight indigestion (chest) and I'm in pain but I can manage. I suppose it feels the same as healing post-surgery when they put this cage in my back. I avoid making any sudden movements. Sudden movements are bad. The trip has been good so far otherwise. I'm meeting new, inspiring people and connecting with those I've gotten to know. I get a break from treatment Sat-Mon so I'm looking forward to spending Labor Day weekend in A-Town. I'll update again sometime next week. Caio! xo
