What I wore for my walk tonight while blasting My Chemical Romance (in my ears) 😅

I have been keeping up with my walking adventure (minus a small break after visiting the city and fucking my feet at a standing room only concert 😅) but I don't think I've posted an update since I started. At least I haven't needed the extra accountability!

For years I have been saying "I want to lose weight" and just not doing it. Then, this year I went to fan expo and was in so much pain I ended up not going on the third day (I was lucky that I didn't miss anything I wanted to see specifically, but it still sucked).

I started rereading The Fellowship of the Ring that day and I'm now 5 chapters from finishing Return of the King.

(all of this is going somewhere, I promise)

As I've been reading, I was wondering how far the actual journey from the Shire to Mordor is (not in like kilometers, but to actually walk). So I decided to find one of those walk to Mordor apps and ended up dropping more money than I care to admit to sign up for one of the challenges.

I'm hoping my 25-year love for Lord of the Rings and my inability to like things a normal amount will be what finally helps me get my shit together. With chronic pain, a lot of working out just isn't feasible long-term so I think walking will be a good alternative (especially since my roommate bought me a walking pad for Christmas so I will have that for bad days when getting out is Hard).

All of this to say, I am 2% of the journey today and just about at The Green Dragon.
