Solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes directly between the sun and the earth, temporarily blocking sunlight wholly or partially. The eclipse's energy creates a state of higher intensity and emotional responsiveness as the moon blocks the effects of sunlight on our planet.

Similar to the intensity of a full moon, but much more powerful, this energy encourages us to go inside and observe ourselves for responsiveness and dealing with past topics. This energy contributes to a similar breakthrough in a lunar eclipse.

Love spells have become increasingly popular in modern times, and for good reason. While love is an important part of life, many people find it difficult to attract the right partner. There are a few steps involved in casting a love spell. First, you need to make sure your intentions are as clear and honest as possible.

With the recent pandemic, you’re stuck at home swiping endlessly on Tinder, hoping to make a meaningful connection with someone who’s probably only judging you on your looks - but what other options do you have?

It almost has a witch wondering how to make a love spell to find the perfect person. Okay, I know what you’re thinking - aren’t love spells unethical? Well, yes. Let’s be clear - you should never perform a spell on someone that goes against their consent.

That’s why this isn’t going to be your typical love spell. Instead of directing this at a specific target, we’re going to cast this spell with the intent of attracting love to you and helping you find someone who is likely to feel the same way. Let’s get started!

Tools:

● Candleholder

● Firesafe bowl

● Matches or lighter

● Pencil and paper

Ingredients

● Himalayan pink salt

● Rose petals

● Lavender buds

Note: all of these ingredients (plus a pentagram candleholder) can be purchased in one of our witchcraft starter kits!

You can also add any other components that correspond with love and passion, such as rose quartz crystals, heart-shaped trinkets, or other small items that represent the sort of love that you’re trying to attract.

Directions:

Start by cleansing all of your tools and ingredients. You can do this by burning sage or incense or even ringing bells. Your local apothecary shop or Wicca store may have love-drawing incenses you can use to enhance that effect.

Next, write your intention down on your piece of paper. It can read something like this:

“I swiftly attract the love that meant to find me.”

Remember to write your intention in the present tense, as though you already possess or deserve it. If you say “I will…” then the universe might make you wait for it!

Fold up your intention as small as possible and set it aside later.

Lay your bowl out in a safe location, placing your candle and candleholder in the center. If you’d like, carve a love sigil on your candle or dress it in your choice of anointing oil before you continue.

Slowly add your ingredients around the candle, making sure to state your intent with each one. Here are mine, for example:

● Himalayan pink salt - to attract a romantic partner

● Rose petals - to form a profoundly passionate connection

● Lavender buds - to maintain long-lasting love

You can add anything else to the bowl that attracts love, but be careful not to overfill it with items that may catch fire. Be sure to provide ample space around your candleholder - safety first!

Finally, add the paper with your intent, speaking it again while you light your candle. If you’d like, you can carefully seal the intention with wax from your candle.

Wicca is one of the oldest and most naturally simple ways of living. Many people live quiet lives using herbs and magic to help themselves and others to the benefit of all. You do not need a lot of equipment to get started on the path, but you will need somewhere to store your ingredients, tools, etc., as these will grow with your confidence and practice. So, let’s look at apothecary boxes.

What Is An Altar Box?

“Apothecary” is an old word (almost as old as Wicca itself). It originally referred to a person who sold medicines, drugs, compounds, tinctures, etc., kept in an apothecary cabinet or box. The apothecary box generally has a series of drawers and cupboards. Allowing items to be discreetly hidden away from prying eyes. Today, Wiccans predominantly use apothecary boxes as they are perfect for holding herbs, essential oils, crystals, smudge kits, matches, etc., all used in spell-work or rituals.

With an apothecary box, you can decide what you use the most and keep the ingredients together. If you use certain spells regularly, such as blessings, gratitude, or abundance spells, then you can keep the herbs for each spell together in one place, so all you need to do is open your drawer, take out your ingredients are you set to go. Alternatively, you can keep different items of the same type in one drawer, so you always know where to look for them.

Magical Uses of Apothecary Boxes

Whether you are just starting on your Wiccan journey or whether you have been on the path for years, there have been a few things you will always need. These include candles (of varying colors, herbs, and different crystals (for your spells), anointing oils, incense, an altar cloth (possibly), and somewhere to keep them all! Fortunately, we have an array of beautiful sturdy (no flimsy flatpack or plastic here) natural wooden apothecary boxes. Not only are these very useful, but they are stylish too. The apothecary boxes also have a dual purpose. Used as an altar for your needs, so you do not need to have an alternative surface when setting up your altar for spell-work. The symbols on the boxes are all magical, and this not only gives them an appealing look, but the symbols (such as the triple moon) or chakra carved apothecary box are relevant to your workings.

Protection

Suppose you like an extra layer of protection for your tools or spell ingredients.
