This. This, is when the year gets fun.
Witches I see...
Rosy Witches: with bright eyes and smiles, hair that does what it pleases and still manages to look good. Scented lip balm, satchels, and no shoes when possible. Warm days where gardens drink in the sun.
Tea Leaf Witches: with their hair always up, as it just gets too distracting. Sleeves pulled over icy hands, nervous habits, chipped nail polish from last month. Sweaters even when itâs too hot. Overcast days and people watching.
Midnight Witches: with dark lips and cheeky grins. Quiet power, chunky heels, dark nails running across the lines of books. Picnics in the graveyard, parasols. The first days of Autumn where you can feel what is to come.
Tag yourself~

Now is the time to feel cleansed by the changing of the air, embrace new endeavors, and shed all the things which no longer serve you, letting them fall away like the leaves. âĄ

âWitchcraft is the art of obtaining power through growth of self and the understanding of where self intersects with unseen forces.â

More research
As Iâm still on the first step I found a new thing to look: working with energy.
I found this site that literally gives you steps for becoming a witch
So as you see, on step 4 thereâs a new term âworking/ experimenting with energyâ, Iâm looking for it and it sounds really cool.
Tbh this is not completely new for me, since i was little my mum taught me how to heal with my energy and some years ago she told me i can do that bc i apparently transform the energy so itâs not bad for me. So now that I realised things are related Iâm even more convinced about this.
Keep tuned
How to start
After a lot of research Iâve come to some steps for starting the witch journey.
1. Do your research. Itâs pretty obvious but yu need to know the terms and understand the facts and generals.
2. Make lists. This goes more to supplies you think youâll need, believe me after searching for a bit of information youâll end up reading lots of spells and thanks to this youâll get a big mental list of supplies.
3. Book of shadows. The exact definitions will come in a glossary Iâll do later, now you need to consider a diary in your supply list.
4. A good space. Firt off you need a safe space to practice spells and all, so make sure to have a place where youâll be alone and comfortable; where you can avoid interruptions, also be contious of the storage space you need.
5. The moon. As you may know after doings your homework, the moon is really important for spells so youâll need to know all the moon faces for at least the present year.
6. Cleansing. This is a common term on crystals, so add the things needed to your supply list and mark the full moons cause youâll need them.
7. Do more research. Really important for understanding the spell deal, the crystals uses and specially the herbs.
8. Start the practice. Of coarse youâll need to start with easy spells and go further to difficult ones when youâre ready.
This is what I have now, Iâm currently on step 1 coming close to step 2. I donât have my book of shadows yet so my lists will be here for now.
Keep tuned
đŻď¸interviewing your deckđŻď¸
i recently got gifted a beautiful new deck, and whenever i get a new deck, the first thing i do is bond with it! one of the ways i do that is holding a little interview session with it.
youâve probably seen hundreds of âdeck interviewâ spreads, and theyâre all really helpful! however, i find them a little limiting. i tend to use a different, more conversational method of interviewing my deck. i talk to my cards, pull cards when i feel an answer is ready, and just keep going and pulling cards as i go until iâm satisfied i know the deck well enough to proceed! here are some useful questions i tend to use for this.
who are you? (how do you see yourself?)
how do you see me?
what are your main goals?
how do you view life?
whatâs your main characteristic?
what can you teach?
what kind of questions do you struggle with?
how should i continue with you?
what can you offer me?
what will the outcome of our relationship be?
what do you think i need to know?
how can i achieve that?
what do you want from me?
do you want to be used for others?
do you want to be used for paid readings?
should i read reversals?
from these questions you can get a scope of how the deck answers questions, its nature, whether itâs optimistic/pessimistic/realistic, whether it sugar coats or gives it to you straight⌠honestly, interviewing new and even old decks is invaluable.
also, this way i manage to get a feel for how the deck likes to be handled. all my decks like to be shuffled, cut and stacked in different ways - handling them how they like for me tends to give more accurate and helpful readings!
(if you like this post and want to support me, i offer paid readings and handmade goods here at my etsy store! please check it out if you have the time. thankyou!)
Holy crap. This was an awesome thing to do with my cards. I learned a lot, but I also feel more emotionally attuned to my cards. I would highly recommend giving it a go!
⨠Cleansing in Witchcraft â¨
Cleansing is a way of removing negative or unwanted energies, spirits, and imprints from an object or a space. There are a number of simple rituals and actions that are done to cleanse. You can do as many or as few as you like, and create your own cleansing methods/rituals.Â
⨠CLEANSING ONESELF
Brush your hair, morning
Ritual baths
Dancing singing
VisualizationÂ
Drinking a tea designed to cleanse
⨠DISCREET METHODS
Brush your hair
Open the windows, let the new air come in and the old air outÂ
Light a candle
Playing a song you associate with cleansing
Ringing wind chimes
Wetting your hands in salt water and flicking the water through the area
Visualize light and colors, and manipulate the energy away
⨠OPEN AREA METHODS
Ring a bell through an area
Smoke cleansing / cense (not smudging)
Waft incense smoke around
Burn herbs, such as sage, rosemary, bay leaf, etc
Spritz lemon-infused water around, or salt water
Light a candle
Sprinkle salt or eggshell pieces in the windows and doorways
Use a besom to clean the negative energies out of the air like cobwebs
Wave a branch of a strong-scented herb through the area, such as mint
Toss a pinch of salt or herbs in the door ways and window
Touch each corner of the room and say a short prayer over each
⨠CLEANSING OBJECTS
bury in a salt bath
if water-compatible (not soluble, wonât react poorly, etc), let sit in a moon or salt water bath
pass through smoke
