"Been a damn long while since Iāve seen an actual beach. Was one time back on Earth, butā¦yāknow, thaās about it, now that I think about it. Never really made a lotāa trips to that sortāa thing. Butāyou ever been to an āonest beach before, yourself?" Matchsticks was partially asking out of curiosity, but he was also more than a bit nervous about passing through securityāa little small talk to pass the time and distract him was a good idea. It would make things a whole lot easier, that was for sure.
āNope, never been to a beach, ever! Only read about them and seen pictures, my Derse didnāt really have time to construct an authentic beach like Prospit did.ā He said whilst dragging Matches closer to the transportaliser, an array of them set out, but none in use, they had come at a strange time after all, but there was no doubt that Prospit would still be bustling, or so heād heard.
āIāveā¦never actually been to Prospit, or at least this one, but I guess itās the same?ā He mused whilst they both came to a stop before a functioning Transportaliser, some of these had clearly seen some wear and tear, others looked like they had been built from leftover scrap and could lead you to who knows where; as far as William knew, the shoddier ones had been put together once the city had begun to function as an actual city once again, refugees having reached out to Prospit in an attempt at peace, no longer needless war, and the newer, pristine looking Transportalisers were the result of that contact, a peace offering of some sort.
āLetās go!ā He chittered pulling the man forwards onto the platform, his permission was all that he needed to hear, convinced this was the best impulsive decision heād made in a while, he punched the console to take them to their destinationā¦holy frog this was going to be costly once he got back, but the whirring of the archaic machine caused him to set those worries aside for now, had he forgotten anything?
āOh, by the way, I donāt know if youāre allowed to keep your ey-!ā The machine cut him off mid-sentence, whatever precaution he was about to throw Matches way unheard as they were whisked towards their destination, well less whisked, it was an odd feeling to describe, almost like being glued to a Human treadmill, travelling at tremendous and unfathomable speeds as colours which flew by, too fast to process, and unable to step off even if you willed it, thrilling but uncomfortable at the same time, and certainly not for the claustrophobicā¦actually, agoraphobics probably wouldnāt like it either, it really did depend on how you percepted the journey.
It would be mere seconds before the two wound up at their intended destination, William still clutching his matesprits hand as he used the other rub at his eyes, yes, he was sure that he was supposed to close his eyes during that, though the sight he was presented with once he recovered wasĀ something to be marvelled at.
Each and every which way, the station was lively with Prospitians, Trolls and even Humans! A severe lack of Dersites, though that was a given, but this? It was a wondrous hub, a marvel, something William himself wished he too could have one day, instead of the drab-looking second hand station heād been charged with.
āUmā¦weāre here.ā William spoke out, grasping onto Matches hand tighter than heād intended, it was unnerving being one of the minority for once, but still, he tentatively stepped forward, almost hugging into the Feltās side as the moved forwards, just staring at the crowds as the citizens and off-worlderās wove between one another, surreal and terrifying, heād have to join to waves of people soon enough.

the most Iād do is kiss you and cover you in blankets, so
overās, uh I got myself a little apartment that aināt on felt grounds. itās safe, even if itās not all that big. donāt think youāre gonna be a buzzkill, eitherānot much of a buzz to kill? Iām mostly just zonin out
[pvt]
Is that all 8)
It's about time! It was getting suspicious and difficult having you over at my place all the time, and I wouldn't worry about the size, small things suit you 8P
When do you want me? Should I bring something? What's the address?
[pvt.]
it justā¦gets you high? likeāyeah, itās gonna do that, but itās not gonna knock you out or anythin
you might want a snack or. five but I think thatās about it. though Iām tellin you now, if you do come over, Iām probably gonna wind up fallin asleep on you at some point
[pvt]
That doesn't make a lot of sense! I don't know why I'm worrying, you're not going to do anything to me, I'll be fine, of course, definitely.
I suppose I could come over, but, where exactly is "over"? Are you sure you want to have me? I might be a bit of a Human 'buzz-kill' with this.

itās a plant that you smoke, so itās. kinda similar to tobacco in a way? thatās a lotāa thinkin for right now though I guess it depends on how you think of it cause it does get you high but at the same time itās just a leaf
I can roll off for a bit if Iām makin you uncomfortable though, no problem donāt wanna bother you or anythin, thatās the last thing Iām goin for
[pvt]
No no that makes sense I guess? I'm not uncomfortable it's just...
Hrm.
I do like plants after all...
Um, when you say it gets you high, what does it do exactly?
Will I still be able to move my body? Will I still be able to talk, shout even? What about run? These are, er, very important questions...
[pvt.]
itās a weed thing and trust me Iām already givin myself a refresher on that shit
so hell, you might as well come over and let me teach you a thing or two while Iām at it
[pvt]
Isn't, um, isn't it a drug?
...I don't like drugs, tender topic.
aw fuck I keep forgettin that I canāt like anythin else
keep on messin up the 420 Iāve got off to the side and thatās just bullshit right there
[pvt]
You never did explain the whole 420 thing to me properly.
Maybe now is a good time 8D

Don't sweat it.
"I had thought that might be the case, though it would be rude to make assumptions. It is a pleasure to meet you Mr. Kingsley, and yes, I am keeping an eye on our new residents. I apologize if the work isnāt the most glamorous, I am afraid that running a casino is probably not as satisfying as many of the tasks on Prospit. Iāve yet to hear any direct complaints, but if you hear of any troubles, please let me know and I will attempt to address them."
The mayorāsĀ eccentricities did not bother him, though the faint scent of blood was slightly worrisome. Hopefully they would let him know if there was any trouble to handled, but it wasnāt his place to pry either way.
"Is there anything I can get you? I wasnāt expecting the visit, so I donāt have anything put aside at the moment, but I am sure the kitchen can accommodate any requests in a relatively short period of time."
It didnāt seem like they were here for a tour, so that was probably out. It was possible they were here for a surprise inspection? Was someone unhappy with their job? He hoped not, but he had missed a few weekly check-ins when they had gotten busy with the expansion. It would be terrible if someone felt slighted by that.
The Mayor had returned from the bathroom shortly after the King had, though not before heād scrutinised his appearance thoroughly; his collar was stained, there was little he could do about that, at least heād halted the bleeding from the cut for the time being. As fresh as heād been able to make himself, he rejoined his associates, glancing between the two as they exchanged the basic necessities of greetings, dull, but he supposed it necessary.
Hmm, his hand werenāt as steady as they normally were, odd.
Dismissing his observation, he finally spoke up, pleased with Garās treatment of the Prospitians his voice would ring clear with a tone of elation, or at least, he assumed it would, but his words were still shaky given the unfortunate turn of events earlier; no stutters, no hesitation, just clicks he himself had no idea were present.
āWell, weāre here to sample your fantastic new facilities of course! Primarily the ones which are supposed to deal with stress-relief, given that we actually arenāt familiar with Saunaās and the like.ā
He looked his assistant over again, just how many times in one day was he going to do so? Refreshments may be essential for the man, he was large after all, and if a small Dersite such as himself had such a large appetite, it would only make sense for the huge Prospitian to have a much larger diet than his own, heād do what he could about that, maybe he should arrange for someone to prepare large meals for him specifically during lunch hours, he deserved it after all.
āIām not all that hungry Kingsley, are you? I mean, youāre rather, um, substantial in size, I assume you need to eat more than I do, and I donāt think you get the opportunity to do so all that often at work. Need something?ā

Don't sweat it.
As it so happens, the staff is well-trained enough to notice local celebrities like the Mayor, and his exceptional assistant. The protocol for these sorts of things, if theyāre not expected, is to escalate the issue up through the ranks.Ā It doesnāt take long for it to reach the man in question.
Since the Mayor is considered an esteemed guest, security isnāt involved at all, instead Gar makes his way down to the front desk nodding politely to regulars and staff members as he passes them.
"Mr.Ā Vallier, good day to you and your guest, welcome back to our humble establishment. How can I be of service?ā
He tips his head politely to them both, gesturing away from the front desk as it looked like the Mayor wasnāt trying to make a scene, or *more* of a scene anyway.
As much as he disliked the formalities with titles and the like, he understood that it was probably necessary for Gar to maintain a certain personal image in front of his co-workersā¦cohorts? Companions? Whatever situation Gar was in at the Casino; caretaker, owner, gardener? It didnāt matter.
Clearing his throat he threw the standard greeting he would to any of his formal associates or business partners, locking gazes and straightening his back despite his somewhat ruffled and blotched appearance.
āGood evening Mr. Locai, itās a pleasure to see you again!ā He moved forwards in order to shake the Trollās hand, likely silly since it would allow him a close-up look of his state, but perhaps his attitude could divert that.
āI was wondering if me and my assistant here would be allowed to indulge in some of your newer facilities, er, if Iām not too hasty on the unexpected visit of course. I should probably have notified you beforehand, um, well itās much too late now.ā
He found himself slowly backing off and ending at the side of his assistant once more the more heād rambled, that looked natural, didnāt it? Of course it did, yes.
āIs there somewhere we could chat about the Prospitians and the expansions? Privately and preferably comfortable, and, er, accommodating.ā He murmured off to the side, hoping the King hadnāt heard that; Gar was resourceful, of course heād have somewhere large for the King to sit, if not, heād probably have it installed within the month.
āOh, and where are the bathrooms?ā Cleaning himself up to look at least decently presentable in a casino was his prime concern at the moment, and it was noticeable given he was fidgeting on the spot increasingly as time passed by.
The (Not) Blind Leading The (Temporarily) Blind
"Iā¦am not sure that wandering the desert while blinded is the best idea, Sir."
Especially since she couldnāt babysit him for the unknown period of time until the curse wore off. Not only because she had to patrol, but there was the desire to see her matesprit as well. It *was* the Mayor thoughā¦so she couldnāt leave him either.
"But. We could go for a drive, if you think that will help?"
Supposedly, driving could be a calming thing. That didnāt really work for her, but then she normally didnāt drive very calmly. Sheā¦probably could though, if it were the Mayor who needed it. The trouble was figuring out where they might go.
If he declined, what then? Earā¦thingsā¦EAR THINGS.
"I could get you ear things. Sound quieters. The ones they use by construction."
Well, at least they did sometimes. If anyone had them, Juice Box probably did. He seemed like the type to fuss over workers and get them things.
āIāve dealt with worse, well, almost.ā He grumbled, a desert would work, well, if it wasnāt for the damned abhorrent sand.
āIām not walking around with ear muffs, Frog no, Iād look atrocious! Iām not sure if I can use ear buds either, lack of ears and squishy-fleshy fingers makes it difficult to get things out of your ear canal.ā He said whilst turning to flex his near-textureless, Carapaced fingers in her direction.
āI think the drive is a good idea! The loud hum of a vehicle should do nicely, very easy to focus on, and it might be thrilling speeding around in a car, not knowing where youāre goingā¦letās do that! Iāll get my jacket.ā
He strode, or rather felt and manoeuvred his way out of the bathroom, not excited per se, but eager to get out of his damned apartment and actually do something. Of course there would be plenty of sounds, but he had the expert of senses with him, didnāt he? Heād be fine in Porosiās care he summed up as he wandered his living room, aimlessly searching for a coat he hadnāt a clue where could be found.
āCommissioner? Have you seen my jacket?ā
Who's dead? Not in this thread!
He hums softly at that, choosing not to answer as it was not his business. If he had to guess, it was probably in relation to that bombing that had happened a while back. Had he not been rather distracted by the confirmation of hisĀ moirallegiance that very evening, heād probably have seen if there was anything he could do. Ah well, something he would endeavor to make up for in the future.
Heād seen many of the confections and baked goods before, having picked out a few for his Moirail from time to time, even if he had to custom order them in spider-form to make it an appropriate gift. Conversationally, he is polite and attentive without prying or asking too many questions, a little more relaxed than he would be with Carapacian royalty but only because it seemed to cause trouble if he was too formal.
However much is piled on, it doesnāt seem to bother him in the least, except when he has to adjust how he is holding the bags so that they do not topple over. All the balance and strength in the world does not help you if the bags collapse. Not for the first time, he wishes they were allowed to use sylladexes here.
It was fortunate heād been raised on an omnivore diet, in all senses of the word, eating as much Human food as Carapacian and Alternian. He had the feeling this amount of sugary desserts would be problematic if he had a more traditional diet.
"Just fine, but thank you for asking. We may need to adjust the bags again if you plan to add a significant amount more though, I am not sure they will make the journey home under additional strain."
āGood, good.ā He replied automatically as he scanned the Trollās face for any discernible emotion outside of the norm, a fruitless effort really; heād seen him laugh, heād seen him frown in both confusion and worry, but heād yet to see him waver, as far as William was concerned, it very much looked like Gar had mastered his emotions, though it could just be another Troll thing after all.
āā¦yes, the bags.ā
Maybe he was emotionally distant? Perhaps something to do with his caste? No no, his caste was typically violent, wasnāt it? He frowned in the doorway as he found himself musing over Garās odd personality as per usual.
āIām not under strain thoughā¦ā
Continuing to spout nonsensical responses to Garās words, he decided it best to just assume the man was very emotionally stableā¦he really should ask why Gar was so distant from the common Troll archetype at some point, but how would he bring that up? āGar, youāre strange. Why?ā It was a little rude.
āUm, do you want to continue business in a digital manner? If Iām at the office whilst we correspond in regards to expansion, itās going to be a lot more efficient!ā He blurted, blinking up at Gar with a hasty smile, it wasnāt often he entered his odd stupors in public, but when presented with such a perplexing Troll, it was probably only natural.
He gave his and Garās own bags a casual glance, scarred arms still holding his shopping, and if they were to part soon, heād be lugging the entirety back to his apartment without aid, heād rather not encroach on Garās kindness any more than he already had, so heād simply have to cope with the load.
Grueling Storms and a bottle of feels
Abel smiled underneath his scarf, not minding at all that he was being pushed away. He was straight from outside and given that no one liked sand in their pants, he understood that it was also unacceptable to drag sand into Willās home. With a happy little wave and surrender of his hands, he was patiently awaiting when the brushing of his sand meant he was decent enough to come in.
"Iāve brought you presents Will, so yes, I may have come for you despite the storm." He announced, his foot moving him forward with the push. He took off his coat on the insistence and was already halfway to taking his shoes off before Will said anything. Getting undressed, he was careful not to shake his clothing in fear of spreading the sand anywhere besides the front of the door. He wondered what Will would do with them as he dropped everything to the floor, left with the goggles pushed into his sweet strawberry blonde hair, strands sticking all over the place. The bag covered his chest and light blue button up, his dark slacks marginally clean of sand than the rest of him. As he pulled off his gloves he figured heād take his socks too. He figured it would track less if he did and as he bent over to do so, he tapped the bag against himself.
"Your stories were quite the treat you promised them to be. I hope you do not mind, I got covers for them."
āUh, presents?ā He said as he stood back from the man shedding his outer layers, almost as though he were repulsed at the thought of sand being scattered everywhere, and as good of a host as he normally was, he wasnāt touching those clothes, theyād stay in that pile until the storm was over as far as Will was concerned.
āYouā¦what? What do you mean you got ācoversā for them? You didnāt spill something on them did you? Please tell me you didnāt!ā
He had no copies, if those were ruined, then that was it, he hadnāt a clue what Abel meant by ācoversā, assuming he meant protective covers for some reason or another, why would he do that if he hadnāt damaged them? Instead of fretting unnecessarily he made his way over to the living room, beckoning Abel with a frown. Heād have asked him if he wanted a drink with him just exiting the sand storm, but that couldā¦wait.
Seating himself on the sofa, instead of asking to see the state of them, he hoped for the best, as fond as he was of his writing, heād much rather hear Abelās opinion, rather than dwell on what might be lost, or damaged forever.
āSo, um, what did you think? Iā¦uh, yes, tell me what you thought.ā
Torchlight.
The tug was more than enough to make the Mayorās request known, and Matches eased himself down onto the couch next to the man, relaxing back into the cushion with a small sigh. That was a long time to go without eating, and the Felt gave a soft hum of concern, brow furrowing. āSāFriday, ām pretty sure. We need to getācha somefinā to eat, now. Been long enough, Iād say. There anyfinā youād like in pāticular? Iām not thābest cook, Iāll tell you thaā now, but I can give it a go.ā
"ā¦youāum. Alrighā. You wanna do thaā righā now, or after we get you some lunchā¦? Up tāyou, really." He shifted in his seat, scooting forward in preparation for getting up to lead William to his wardrobe. It occurred to him that he hadnāt really been in his boyfriendās room before, now that he actually thought about itāhuh. First time for everything, even if now wasnāt exactly the best time. "Youāre gonna āave to tell me what you want outta there specifically, though. For your clothes, yāknow." Matches idly rubbed at the side of his jaw, scrutinizing his own clothing for a moment. He probably could have done better with this one. "Iām not real good at pickinā out outfits."
āLetās not bother with food for now, Iāve gone without for much longer than this before, no need to cook if you donāt want to, besides, Iām not sure thereās anything in dateā¦ā He really didnāt have food on his mind at the moment, especially when his sense of smell was being assaulted in combination with his hearing, but his boyfriend was handsome and charming and heād missed him a lot.
āMatchesā¦?ā He chimed quizzically, hearing him shift to stand, but William stopped him, a hand grabbing at his shoulder as he even heard the subtle rubbing of a jaw; he knelt forwards on the couch, one of his own hands sliding up to rub at the hand, the knuckles of his other gently angling his head to Williamās, not quite as difficult, and much less eye-pokey than heād assumed before he dove in to lay a kiss square on his lips, deep and forceful, craving for contact heād been absent of for weeks, but brief as he pulled away somewhat awkwardly.
āLetās, umā¦cāmon.ā He mumbled as he pushed off the sofa, leading the way to the bedroom and his closet, grumbling all the while, at the very least, heād be getting a change of clothes.

[pvt] I have yet to solidify any opinions about her person, therefore I am unable to comment on whether or not she cares for you. My apologies. She does seem rather eccentric to me, from my meeting with her the other day. [/pvt]
Thank you, I look forward to having you back.
[pvt] It's not a problem, she means well, actually no, she means the best, she IS the best! [/pvt]
It will be nice to see a friendl-
Well.
It will be nice to see a FACE in all honesty.
Kingsley! Sorry about disappearing for a while there, I was blind. For a week. I hope you've been able to hold the fort whilst I've been gone, also, why didn't you try to contact me??
I noticed the stream of confusing notes in relation to that, but I was unsure if contacting you would actually prove worth the time or not, seeing as you were blind and would have been unable to read them. I was under the impression that the Commissioner was attending to you after she and I spoke about it. Was this not the case?
I assume I āheld down the fortā well enough, everything remains how you left it.
In that case I am glad you received some aid from her. I would have to agree with you, she is certainly crafty. Quite an interesting individual.
It is of no consequence, I was merely attending my duties and stepping in when you were unable.
Very Interesting!
[pvt] I don't think the Commissioner likes me very much though, she has a lot of fun with everyone else.
Maybe I'm a bit of a spoil-sport to her...
[pvt/]
Well then, you're doing your job properly, and even then some! I'll be back tomorrow, bright and early, and the coffee will be on your desk for once 8]
