leaning back against the grass, a loud yawn escapes syaoran as he stretches out aching limbs. attention briefly turns to eijun, hearing the other’s enthused vocals as the shooting star came and went through the dark sky. it was a relaxing evening for the two, enjoying some sweets they bought with their own money from a bakery as they hung out in the park to get out of doing homework. it was…different for syaoran, that was for sure. no monsters to fight that threatened their city and having to seal them in their respective cards… it was almost cathartic. 

     "Mmrgh… Y-you, I-well…!"

     Well, he got him there. His mouth opens, then closes. Positively stumped. A spluttering mess with no comeback to Syaoran's logic. After all, there were certain rules to follow when wishing upon a shooting star. Never speak your wishes out loud, or else bare the consequences of them never coming to fruition. How rash of himself! To encourage someone to break the biggest rule of them all!

“WH- HEY!!” And there goes his controller ( shouldn’t have spent those precious seconds glaring and thinking at the character select screen, jude. ) Now he’s stuck with playing as… as….? “But…who even made this guy? I-I mean, my hair isn’t…… it isn’t that flat looking!” At his best, he sounds about half-sure. But whatever! The battle approaches, and he’s not about to get caught off guard again. An old lesson surfaces: he may have lost the first strike, but he who quickly strikes back?!

     It's automatic by this point. The narrator enthusiastically announces their characters before transitioning to said characters virtually being summoned to their chosen stage. Figure-8 Circuit. Again, Yuzuki's choice. ( She likes watching her opponent get run over by the cars. ) Now that the characters are loaded on the screen, she can see that, mm, maybe he doesn't look 100% similar to the guy after all. But there's something there that just screams Jude. “...Hm. Must be the eyes.”

     Don't ask why. It would take days to figure out what goes on inside Yuzuki's mind. And that's mostly because her mind is a fickle thing. One moment she's thinking something, and the next, she's moved onto another food for thought in its entirety. There's simply no explaining that.

     “Ah, right--is this your first time playing? We should take a couple seconds for you to learn the controls. Here,” she positions her Bowser in front of his Mii Fighter, “this is how you punch. Side kick. Headbutt. Throw.” She kindly shows him the tips and maneuvers... against his character. “Got it?” She asks, blissfully unaware of his health points that considerably went up while hers remained at 0.
