ONE SHOT, BABY!

     “Ghhhhh -- c’mon Gladio... can’t you like, ‘dunno, track the thing a little faster? I’m getting super creeped out by this place...! It reeks of bad vibes, and it’s getting dark? That’s not a good combination!”

It’s a rarity, how the usually enthusiastic Prompto dwindled into a very anxious and quivering Prompto in a matter of half an hour. Normally, he liked hunts -- loved them. But with lead weighing down in his gut, as well as indecipherable dread, Prompto’s quick to assume the worst when he hears a nasty snarl -- and even moreso when his eyes can’t find the source of said snarl. Fear clutches at his rapid heartbeat, and Prompto stands perfectly still. A crackle a ways from the two hunters sets him on edge all over again, and with a suppressed yelp he’s behind Gladio like a shadow, his freckled face contorted with stress.

     “Y’know, Noct... if it’s too much for you to handle, we can check the city out another time.”

     “--- creeped out? no... getting the heebie jeebies? uh, yeah?!” The blonde even makes it a point to hug and curl into himself, his face scrunching up with discomfort at the jittery feeling crawling up his spine. Prompto shakes his head frantically, teeth gnashing together as he shivers. “Bugs just... agh -- they’re so gross! I can’t stand ‘em!” He sighs then, puffing out his cheeks as he slumps into an awkward sitting position -- talking his new companion’s ear off without a care in the world (it’s not as though they had anyone else here either -- Prompto thinks he’s just lucky).

     “Aw man... I’m totally beat,” Prompto wheezes, his legs staggering -- almost crumpling to the floor with exhaustion. The night drawls on, and the moon light is almost as tolling as the sun’s, reminding Prompto that they’ve been up and at it all day. He breathes out -- an exaggerated sigh past his lips that’s an attempt to garner the attention of the head-in-chief, who was none other than the strangely energy-filled prince. From where Prompto’s collapsed, his blue eyes peer to the prince, a silent plea in his irises.

     “Whoa, whoa! Hey...” Prompto’s arms wriggle as he almost trips over his own feet, his mess of swaying limbs seeking for a solid surface. His face flushes with a pinkish hue, an index finger rubbing instinctively at his freckled nose. Then, Prompto huffs, chuckles, and a snort gets caught just in between the two. Talk about embarrassing.
