WINTER TOUCHED

The merman's attention was incredibly flattering, but on a dime it became something else: dangerous. He must've been too seduced by the timbre of the Alpha's voice to notice, but those teeth confirmed what his clenched hole was telling him. "I-I ... who wh-wha..." Adnan stammers out, his pulse quickening with each scratch against the blue-gray ring of flesh around his neck. Intense and piercing, the Alpha's desire hit his nose harshly, but it was nothing compared to Adnan's reaction.

His breaths got shallower and his eyelids fluttered. Lured and hooked, every instinct told him to run which meant his own lust could be scented by anyone in the bar. The floodgates were open now and it wouldn't be long before the slick his body was already beginning to pump out would ruin his underwear. "Who ... are you?" he whimpers softly, transfixed by the Alpha's voice and gaze. "Please don't stop. I can sing for you more if you like, just..." There was barely any physical contact and yet Adnan felt like the mer had set him on fire. "Without stakes, I have no life and therefore no real songs. You see me, don't you? You didn't lie when you said you were understanding?"

at the very least they certainly had more control over the expression of their more primal instincts. the tell tale signs from the selkie was obvious now and the alpha was certain that people around would begin to take notice soon. well, . that whimper was the cherry on top of an already delicious cake. if adnan sounded like that, just on a light touch alone... he couldn't wait to hear the noises that would come out of him when the mer got his hands on him, or more crudely, got his knot in him. “i would enjoy that.” he grinned, all teeth this time. having someone sing for him, now that would be an honour... mostly the omega's honour.

“little selkie omega,” even if the man before him was anything but little; though substantial bulk aside, the other man was doing everything in his power to appear small. "you can call me øyvind. unless you prefer something else." he had a few monikers he'd accept. though it was always fun to see what someone could come up with creatively.

the alpha nodded. “yes, i certainly understand your needs.” to be controlled, for one, like omegas should be. “you need someone to treat you right.” not well, but right. in the correct way he needed to be treated. the idyllic lifestyle was certainly not for him. it's a wonder how he ended up in new haven or stayed for so long... going without an alpha to put him in the place he so clearly and desperately needed and craved to be in. "only then will you sing like you used to." he couldn't unravel adnan's past from just a small interaction, but between the collar, the man's words, demeanour, and reaction to him, øyvind had an inkling of an idea behind it.

Adnan knew deep down he didn't have the inspiration for contentment anyway. His needs weren't being met and his music was beginning to show that. Adnan knew what he needed to cultivate but was unable to put it into words. Instead, he downs the rest of his scotch and brings the other's free hand to his neck, fingers over his slow, steady pulse. "My life flashing before my eyes. Danger, uncertainty. My inspiration comes from the rush of a pounding heart, not a contented drumbeat." Feeling a bit embarrassed by his breath hitching and goosebumps appearing where Øyvind's fingers touched his cobalt burn, he freezes up a bit. Was it weird to put an Alpha's hand at his neck? "If I'm missing anything, it's that."

unlike the other however, the alpha did not find contentment boring. he certainly was content and happily so, living in semi-retirement. he was also content, and definitely not boringly so, when he woke up snug in a warm hole. out of nowhere, the omega became surprisingly forward, taking the merman's hand and placing on his own exposed neck. øyvind's fingers tingled like they had been hit by an electric touch. he felt the steady pulse under his fingers but that wasn't what caught his touch and his eye.

a collar. (or the residual effects of one used long term.)

"No, you're absolutely right. There's a certain truth that my music these days lacks. Dim lights and a lowcut vest usually do enough to distract, but those who pay attention–" Adnan's eyes flick to the merman, then to the ground, then to his hand running over his bracelets, then to the merman's hand on his elbow. "–those like you, would catch it. The farce." He finally looks back to the Alpha and sheepishly takes another sip. "It's hard to fake a heartsong. My heart doesn't long for much in New Haven, which was meant to be the theme. Longing. I guess ... I should sing more honestly." However, with a potential fan right in front of him, Adnan figured he should attempt to be gracious and not focus on his own selfish artistic goals. "I'm flattered the performance made an impression regardless. Maybe ... maybe my next gig will have the 'something more' you wish to hear."

though he wasn't going to admit it out loud, even he was a bit impressed with how far new haven had gone to make sure every species that found themselves living stuck there was comfortable. rising out of the salt water lake, which really was a marvel, he began to wrap a towel around himself since he was in public and, according to some of the people around the group home that complained when he walked around naked, modesty was best and errant smirk began to form on the usually crabby merman's lips as he saw him approaching.

again, he wouldn't dare to claim he had made any friends here in new haven but out of everyone he had bumped into so far øyvindullr was certainly the most tolerable. he respected the other; considered him an equal. gods forbid, he might even go as far as admitting he liked having the other around.

"ᚨᚱᛖ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚠᛟᛚᛚᛟᚹᛁᚾᚷ ᛗᛖ?*" he questioned, his tone teasing as he finished tying the towel around his waist with a knot. "can you not... sleep?" raen added on as he turned to face the other fully.

"let... me guess..." stepping forward, his eyes dropped to look the other over as that smirk managed to linger on his features. "ᚤᛟᚢ ᚨᚱᛖ ᛟᚢᛏ ᛚᛟᛟᚴᛁᚾᚷ ᚠᛟᚱ ᚨᚾ ᛟᛗᛖᚷᚨ ᛏᛟ ᛒᚢᚱᚤ ᚤᛟᚢᚱ ᚴᚾᛟᛏ ᛁᚾᛏᛟ ᚠᛟᚱ ᛏᚺᛖ ᚾᛁᚷᚺᛏ ᚨᚾᛞ ᚤᛖᛏ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚠᛟᚢᚾᛞ ᛗᛖ. ᛁ ᚨᛗ ᚾᛟ ᛟᛗᛖᚷᚨ.**" though that wasn't him saying no.

when he wanted something he went for it. until he got it.

trying to fully understand what the other mer spoke was a challenge that he enjoyed conquering. if both icelandic and the mer language of his tribe didn't have roots in old norse, øyvind would certainly had a much harder time with it. trying to speak a basically dead language was a little harder, not when it was one that essentially no one used anymore — but he had took a little time polishing it up, practicing it with his parents for one, in order to properly communicate with his fellow mer. one, who was unfortunately out of time. "surprised that you're still around. ᚲᛟᚾᛋᛁᛞᛖᚱᛁᚾᚷ ᚺᛟᚹ ᛗᚢᚲᚺ ᚤᛟᚢ ᚴᛖᛖᛈ ᚷᛟᛁᚾᚷ ᛟᚾ ᚨᛒᛟᚢᛏ... ᚺᚨᛏᛁᚾᚷ ᛖᚡᛖᚱᚤᛟᚾᛖ ᚺᛖᚱᛖ." a learned individual could certainly tell that he wasn't too used to speaking the language but surely the other could appreciate the effort. "i was just about to go for a late night swim myself. ᛒᚱᛟᛏᚺᛖᚱ."

according to rumors despite how often dirty they were, and outdated they were, people spent all hours of the day and night at diners because the food still managed to be good; incredible, even, if you were drunk. mind you-- he wasn't there for the food. on occasion he could find a snack for himself at a diner but, really, the ones in new haven had became an infrequent haunt of his at night. he didn't want to spend every single night of his life here drinking-- shocking, i know-- and aside from the bars and the park, there wasn't much for a vampire like him to do at night.

he needed to get one of those damned daylight rings.

sitting at the long stretch of a bar-top, watching the cook clean the grill top to keep himself busy, the vampire lazily turned on the stool and leaned back against the edge of the countertop as he heard the sound of the diner's door opening. finally. something to distract himself with. "well, that is what i'm known for," he answered with a sigh and the hint of a smirk as he looked up at øyvindullr. "just like you're known for smelling like a marina." he teased. "why, you offering? couldn't find an omega in the bars wanting to spend the night dock-side so you had to come out here?" he taunted.

These thoughts were internalized though as best he could. Adnan was the picture of contentment as he packed up his equipment, so much so that his blank stare leveled at the stranger offering him a drink. He didn't think the show was worth even the cheap stuff. "Oh, thank you," Adnan responds as he takes the cup, hesitating to drink from it. "You enjoyed the show then? You didn't think my music was ... lacking at all?" One look at the other and Adnan could tell he lived a life of opulence. He was probably accustomed to seasoned professionals capable of artistry beyond what could be found in some bar. "Or did my voice make up for the poor lyrics? You can be honest, I can take it," he presses after hesitating again, his thumbs stroking the glass of scotch he clutched.
