that voice was like a siren's call. all that bulk did not seem to match with that demure voice and personality. or at least that was what was portrayed for dozens of individuals. really it could all be a facade. no matter, øyvind was enthralled. if he was an investing man, well, he would have invested in this live lounge singer. and as fate would have it, he was one.

with the town in uproar, roads blocked & people scrambling to find their loved ones, ryan ... felt calm for once. not because he didn't worry about his home or his son, but because he knew angel was safe & that he would continue to be - for now. they had more important matters to tend to. keeping an eye on the wall, for one & bringing back as many travelers still out in the world as possible - if only to strengthen town against intruders. if they were any. they didn't know yet, new haven was too big to know until something happened - unfortunately.

he could've skipped his after-work duties today, could've bowed out to go home & spend the evening with his child, but he didn't. ryan didn't scare easy & there was someone else out there who needed them. ever since an incident a good year back, the riders were no longer allowed going alone if the ride was longer than a day away, so he was to meet with one of the others tonight.

still dressed in dark slacks & his white button-up from work, shoulder holster keeping his gun in reach & his badge on his belt glistening when hit by the dim light of a lantern. they were looking at at least three days on the road, so ryan came prepared. a duffel filled with clothes & cooked food rations, cause that one time they were out, they'd not found shit for days & ryan liked to keep healthy. kind of.

the other rider he found waiting for him was ... not the one he hoped. he liked the little bunny, or pretty much anybody who didn't reek of self-righteous alpha superiority. but alas... this would be his burden to carry for the next few days.

"guess it's jus' gonna be you'n me this time. you good to go or you need more time to fuck up someone else's life?" well, who said being civil was a necessity for this job? not him. of course he knew of the other's reputation, he was the damn law. he knew everything in town. hence his ..hostility. reservations.

it was ... the bad boys that caught his attention. he didn't know why, it wasn't like angel ...was into danger per se. how could he be when he'd grown up with the father he had? always worrying if he'd come home & missing out on family dinners & the like, because evil never slept & ryan had to work late. he wasn't looking for danger, he wasn't looking to get his heart broken, but ... what could he do when love came for him out of the blue?

he'd seen him with his father & was pretty sure danilo had seen him, too - he knew they rode out together sometimes & when his father came back home... angel got to sniff the alpha off him. it was ... nice. angel didn't expect to ever speak with him or even find himself caught in his radar, because he knew options in town were unlimited & he was a fish in a big-ass pond, but when he saw the rider nurse a beer on a stroll during town, he couldn't help his heart from jumping.

& it only quickened when the alpha's eyes ... found his. did he glance to his sides to see if he was the only one there? .....yes. he was not in company of beautiful omegas on his left or right, so... him? was it because of his dad? was he the little plus one that was only paid attention to because he liked his dad? that stare... made his blood freeze, but in the best ...best possible way.

he was so handsome. he couldn't think of any alpha his own age who even got close. but he was bad news, right? his father .. seemed not to be a fan of him & they did spend quite some time together, right? although, he wouldn't be surprised if it was his father's fault - really, angel knew he ... was moody sometimes. like a moth drawn to flame, angel practically levitated across the street to where the alpha sat, all handsome & dangerous as he leaned against some wall to enjoy his beer & ....hunt? was he hunting? where could he sign up to be his prey?

Danilo had just removed the ropes and he was blushing and spent and so damn embarrassed about this whole thing. He had never done something like this with someone, one night stands weren't his thing and he had learned about it very early on. But he couldn't resist himself to try it, to try him, to try and set his mind free from bad memories and just enjoy himself and life.

"You-you think so?" He asks the alpha as he caresses his wrists, he wasn't used to compliments like that or to trying things like rope in bed.

Louis eyes the marks on his wrists then and then looks at Danilo. "A lot of people have told me I'm pretty but not that I was a work of art, that one is new," he says lowering his arms and looking away.
