made friends with jack because jack has a soft spot for kids on the street, he spent a few years with the newsies and got really close to them, then basically the entire plot of newsies happens

after the strike miles comes to see what the fuck has been taking his brother so long in new york

he literally goes to the newsboys lodging house first because he knows his brother is Like That

he asks for a jesse but it doesn’t take long for him to see jesse just,,,, sitting there,,,, but with a crutch

and miles just,,,, stares blankly

miles basically asks for a full explanation because why do you have a crutch and who are these kids and why are they so protective of you jesse what did you do

jesse explains the whole strike and just like,,, casually mentions that he got arrested and miles freaks the fuck out

“oh yeah I got arrested”

“you got what”

“miles I literally cannot die please chill tf out”

miles angrily calmly explains that that’s not the problem jesse we are literally hunted by the government

mae and angus find out as well and angus tries to act all “you need to be more careful” but is secretly super proud for obvious reasons

mae wants to adopt all of the newsies but settles for baking them all cookies
