𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐎-𝐀-𝐃𝐀𝐘𝐒 seem to get worse with each passing year, but fortunately for ford, this year would be his LAST of the dreaded six am wake up call followed by two hours of death– also known as conditioning. thankfully, he’s on his way out, because his bargaining tactics to whatever deity will listen to his groveling are starting to get a little too creative. he’s also pretty sure that bargaining someone else’s life is illegal, but nic will forgive him… eventually. he’s digging around in his haphazardly-packed gym back in search of his phone when a frame is suddenly crashing into his own. a hand shoots out to hover over the girl’s shoulder lest his forward momentum make him the first body-crushing murderer, and ford blinks at the hastiness of the apology. ‘ walk ons don’t start for another week, but that mean stiff arm you’ve got might just earn you a spot on the team. ’
normally, she at least pretended that she could walk on her two feet. winnie just had a habit of walking around while she was playing pokemon go. it was a horrible habit — but a habit none the less. she knew she should pay attention, especially since she always seemed to lose track of time and was late for class. today, she was late, distracted, and clumsy — apparently. winnie looked up and let out a laugh at ford’s statement. “ i don’t think i’ll get a callback... or, um, whatever it is that you get in sports. “ she didn’t know anything about sports. unless pokemon leagues counted — and most people said they didn’t. “ um, anyway. i’m sorry for, uh, running into you. “

the blonde smiled, thankful it was someone friendly and not rude. she could handle most people, but rude ones always gave her a little bit of unease because she didn’t know what to say to them most of the time. winnie laughed at his joke. she never understood the appeal of sports; she was preferred her nerdy hobbies to anything. “ i don’t think i’d, you know, be very good at tackling people. i’m small. “ she was tiny in comparison to some people. “ hardly. i was trying to make it to class on time. then got distracted by a - “ she stopped for a second, biting her lip, “ a pokemon. “ she couldn’t act cool, so why bother trying.
“ whoops ! “ winnie said, moments after bumping into someone. her phone was glued in front of her face as she walked on the sidewalk. she’d been trying to catch a pokemon while attempting to get to class on time. but without paying close attention to where she was going and focusing on her phone, she had managed to run into someone the second the pokemon fled. winnie had been trying to do two things, except all she’d accomplished was doing two things poorly. this was why people didn’t multitask. “ i’m so sorry ! “

KATHRYN NEWTON , 21 , CIS FEMALE , SHE/HER ☆ — wait , is that GUINEVERE COLLIER ? dean lockwood has been looking for them . you didn’t hear it from me but , apparently the JUNIOR might know something about the whole omega chi & kappa tau situation . while they can be EXCITABLE & WHIMSICAL , they’re far too INTUITIVE & VIVACIOUS to be involved , right ? those who know them say they’re reminded of NOT PAYING ATTENTION WHILE PLAYING POKEMON GO , HAIR PULLED UP IN A MESSY PONYTAIL , NEVER BEING ON TIME , BIG SWEATERS whenever they’re around . honestly , the ARCHAEOLOGY / ENGINEERING major should try to keep their head down . after the events of last semester , lockwood is out for blood . did you know that WINNIE is a member of HOLLINGSWORTH CLASSICAL CLUB ? that might explain why their name is being brought up .
AN INTRODUCTION /
— guinevere's family immigrated to america from ireland in 1973. the political unrest and the attack in derry, ireland at the time caused the family to move to a more stable country. winnie’s parents were from the same small town and their families moved to america together. her parents became very close when they were young and eventually got married.
— winnie and her older brother were born 11 months apart, winnie being the younger of the two. unlike her brother, she was always the more responsible of the two of them. growing up, her family kept a close eye on their children and winnie was raised in a very conservative irish catholic household.
— she was particularly close with her grandmother growing up, who taught her how to speak and read gaelic. winnie and her brother were sent to a private school for their education, where they were both expected to get very good grades. winnie had no problem keeping her grades up and quickly gained a popular girl reputation at her school.
— however she quickly learned her reputation was only due to her brother’s good looks and most of the girls in her grade wanting to get close to them. winnie distanced herself from the sorts of things that “popular” people liked. she randomly walked into her local gaming store and fell in love.
— after graduating high school in the top 1% of her class, she followed her brother to hollingsworth. the school wasn’t very far away from home and she felt comfortable being near a member of her family, especially since her brother is only a year older. she’s been at the school for three years now and is majoring in archaeology and engineering.
— winnie plays both table top and video games. she’s made a name for herself as a popular twitch streamer, where she streams herself playing popular games. she also has a small following from the d&d podcast she creates. those are two of her biggest projects over the past six years.
— when she was first at hollingsworth, she had wanted to go into film studies, but her parents said no to that and since they’re paying for her education, she felt like she had to listen to them. therefore, she picked two majors that she can do virtually anything with. and maybe when she’s off on her own, she’ll look into entertainment.
— her connection to the greek system would be her brother. he’s in a frat. winnie’s sophomore year at hollingsworth, her brother managed to drag her to a frat party, where she got super drunk. winnie doesn’t remember much about the night. only that she woke up hungover the next morning in a random person’s bedroom at her brother’s frat. she has never told anyone about that night.
