**Finding Happiness After Trauma:
Last December, I experienced a devastating loss—my best friend of ten years passed away in a car crash. With him, it felt like our entire friend group also drifted apart, leaving behind a void where once there was laughter, support, and comfort. For years, I had leaned on this group to navigate the ups and downs of my mental health, finding peace in our gatherings and the temporary escapes they provided. However, this significant loss taught me about finding true happiness. Here's what I've learned ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧˚
**1. Self Pity Kills Dreams. **
I’ve learned to stop feeling bad for myself about what happened. I can’t change it but I can be thankful I’m here today. I have the ability to meet goals and milestones that my friend will never get to. Being stuck in self pity and grief won’t help you bring people back to you. It will only hold you back from living your life.
**2. The Power of Solitude**
Without the constant distraction of social events, I discovered the beauty of solitude. I learned to enjoy my own company, which was initially uncomfortable but eventually rewarding.
**3. Embracing New Connections**
While the old group dynamics changed, I didn't shut myself off from new relationships. I started attending community events and starting new hobbies, which introduced me to new people. These connections were different, not replacements but additions to my life, teaching me that loss doesn't mean an end to companionship but a transformation of it.
**4. Redefining Happiness**
Before, my happiness was tied to external validations and social highs. After my loss, I redefined what happiness meant to me. It became more about internal peace, personal achievements, and small daily joys rather than fleeting moments at parties or group hangouts. I learned to celebrate the quiet victories, like finishing a book, cooking a meal from scratch, or enjoying a sunset.
I hope you all find happiness 🩷🩷🩷
