Three For Staying | Caryl
It seemed like the events happened all too quickly. She hadn’t expected to be followed when she was going to leave, but of course he showed up. And then they were chasing after a car that Daryl figured had taken Beth. She trusted him, and his word, and she tagged along without a single complaint.
And now they were here, stuck back in Atlanta, with no place to go. She didn’t know what to do, and he seemed to be asking her what they should do.
"I don’t know, Daryl." She murmured. "We don’t have a lot of options. It’s the car, or a building. You choose."
He scanned the street, looking for something that was more concealed. There was a number of vehicles, parked along the street, some more abandoned than parked. He finally settled on one of the shorter buildings. "There, six stories, but it's better 'n stayin' in here every walker can spot us. Damn near out of gas anyway." They'd have to find something else to drive come morning. He climbed out of the car and was halfway to the building when he spotted it. A commercial van with no side windows. If it ran and had gas in it...well. He'd worry about that later. At least it would be easier to clear and give them room to stretch, he hoped.
