        so  it’s  common  knowledge  that  her  dad’s  usually  doing  the  cooking  around  here.  but  it’s  mother’s  day  &  he  had  an  early  morning  at  the  dealership,  so  naturally,  she’s  taking  on  the  responsibility  of  starting  off  her  mom’s  day  right.  now,  she’s  been  the  sous-chef  at  dinner  time  before,  but  never  really  at  breakfast.  all  she  knows  is  there  had  better  be  biscuits  &  gravy  on  that  tray  she  plans  on  bursting  in  her  parents’  bedroom  with.  she  gets  the  biscuits  done  pretty  quickly.  the  baking  part  she’s  got  down.  the  gravy  part  ?  she  may  or  may  not  have  watched  a  youtube  video  to  get  it  right.  nothing  looks  burnt  when  she’s  done  &  it  smells  kind  of  good,  so  there  are  slim  chances  of  food  poisoning.  everything  is  set  up  nicely  on  the  tray,  cup  of  coffee  to  go  with  it  &  a  small  bowl  of  mixed  berries  on  the  side  before  she  goes  to  gently  tap  on  the  door  &  walk  inside,  bright  smile  on  her  lips.  “  good  morning,  super  mom  !  ”  she  greets  playfully,  pushing  the  door  closed  with  her  foot  before  making  her  way  closer.  “  room  service  ?  ”

amanda  didn’t  know  if  it  was  her  pregnancy  brain  or  what,  but  she  could  have  almost  sworn  she  was  smelling  something  cooking,  which  couldn’t  be  because  it  had  been  a  while  since  her  husband  had  kissed  her  goodbye  and  headed  to  the  dealership.  she  really  thought  she  was  imagining  it  until  the  door  opened  and  the  smell  of  biscuits  and  gravy  ( her  favourite ! )  wafted  in.  “good  morning  to  you,  super  stellina,”  she  replied,  sitting  up  right  in  the  bed.  she  took  in  the  sight  in  front  of  her  and  couldn’t  hide  the  grin  from  her  lips  . . .  or  the  growl  from  her  stomach.  “that  was  this  little  bambino,”  she  teased,  patting  the  bed  next  to  her.  “i  hope  you  brought  enough  for  two,  because  if  that’s  for  me  then  you’re  going  to  join  me  for  a  little  mother  daughter  date,”  she  insisted.  “you  did  all  this  yourself?”  she  asked,  a  little  surprised.  she  knew  her  daughter  knew  how  to  cook,  daniel  made  sure  of  that  . . .  but  she  couldn’t  recall  samantha  ever  making  biscuits  and  gravy  before.
