Undoubtedly. To repeat what I have said before: As an old cis/het man, I can't begin to understand the experience of a trans or non-binary person. It's too foreign to what I am to truly put myself in their place. But I don't need to understand it to respect it. Respecting someone else's rights takes nothing away from my own. The only people whose gender identity or sexual orientation should concern me are the people I am personally having sex with - and, at my age, that is a VERY select group.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.
