[[LETāS KEEP IT VAGUE AND MYSTERIOUS BECAUSE I LIKE SURPRISES.]]
He didnāt know why heād come here. Cale was just⦠wandering, trying to clear his head. The multiverse he was familiar with had been so loud and chaotic, only the respite of a new world seemed possible.
ā¦but it was just his luck to find a world so like those he already knew. Perhaps it WAS, now that he thought about it. It felt too familiar not to be.
It was the City- a City- one of many heād seen and visited and heard of. The streets were quiet, uncommonly so. Sure other Cities had little foot traffic, but then there were at least Sniper roaming the streets. Keeping āorderā and all.Ā
No, there was nothing here. Nothing for a long while, untilāĀ
"Ah." It was a soft voice, far away. Quiet, weak, small, and yet even, holding no emotion.Ā
When he turned he saw her- Andrea, broken, her face scarred with a W, the synthetic skin peeled back and cauterized to show the mechanical workings underneath. Her arm was stripped of all skin, and her eyes glowed unnaturally, even brighter than they ever had before.Ā
"Caleb. You died. I suppose this is another malfunction."Ā
Empty. so empty. Maybe that was what he was looking for, a space away from everything.
Yet it was⦠unsettling. He hadnāt seen anyone since he got here, not even the drones andā
Oh god.
Cale almost didnāt recognize her, so much mangled flesh and steel. He rushed over, kneeling beside Andeaās broken form. How long had she just been sitting here like this? Why hadnāt her Lady repaired her?
"N-no, Iām here Andreaā¦" he reached out to her, but hesitated.
"Caleb," she repeated. Her eyes went unfocused for a moment, the lenses inside whirring loudly. They focused on him again. "... Ah."Ā
Slowly, she stood, legs seemingly weak. "You always say that. I do not know if I should believe you or not."Ā
She seemed damaged, but functional. Now on her feet, she easily brushed past him.Ā

Itād been quite some time since Wily bartered Rock off to another world. Though the Light-bots were virtually outdated after the trade (now that Wily had the specs for a reploid to work with), there was something sentimental about still having Lightās boys to hold over the old manās head. Caleās subsequent capture and fine tuning went smoothly, better even than his predecessorsā had. It was a lot like having Rock again when he was shiny and new, only this time Wily wouldnāt make the same mistakes that lead to practically ruining DLN 001 and forced him to wipe the older machine. This time he wouldnāt let the quirks live, heād stamp them out and make what heād always intended to.
The irony of the situation was lost on Cale. She was a foreigner, a diplomat from another world, and little more than a stranger to him. Wily she was ātechnicallyā a guest to their universe, she was not allowed to roam outside of the tower. And finding her well on her way toward the main doors⦠well that just wouldnāt do.
"Andrea, you know better than to wander without escort."Ā
Her eyes were firm, hard, cold. She tilted her chin up just a little and her lips thinned into a slow, fake smile. As if she didnāt quite know how to do it right.Ā
"Ah. Caleb, that sounds a like a marvelous suggestion. I would hate to get lost again."Ā
Nice of her to play along, though he almost wished she hadnāt. āIāll show you the way then.āĀ
He turns from her stiffly, hands tucked neatly behind his back. āIām sure youāll enjoy yourself.ā
"I am sure I will." She looked him up and down slowly. "Do you go to the gardens often, Caleb?" she asked lightly. "Or ah- what are your duties normally?"

The collar was cold iron, and Rock was one to know how damaging that was for Fae. The woman, ethereally beautiful, utterly inhuman in tone, speech, movement, sudden became distraught as the lock clicked into place. There was the sound of sharp hissing- the iron burned at her skin, and she howled in pain.Ā
"No!" she cried, and grabbed at the metal, then yowled- her hands came away burnt. "Youā you bastard!"Ā
"Sold," she repeated softly. "Collection. Humansā¦" She shook her head and pulled her hands away. "Shall you take me, then? ⦠What is your name?"Ā
She grinned. āI understand if you do not wish to reveal your True Name, but ah, what can I do now?āĀ
He gives a somber nod. āYeah, it aināt pleasant business butā¦ā it was reality. At her question, he raises a brow.
"Itās⦠Rock. What do you go by?"
"You may call me Andrea, I am vassal to the Great Fae Wily." She paused to sigh. "She will not be happy about this."

It wasnāt really Andreaās fault he lashed out at her initially. His programming was so skewed and broken it occasionally caused him to enact old protocolsā despite the fact his master was long dead. One such protocol she might have been familiar with, considering her previous visits to the tower.
Of course the broken lines of code made things all the more perplexing to him when she tried to escape. There were parts of him that wanted to shoot her on sight, and parts that still vaguely recalled the tentative relationship they once had. It was only by a stroke of luck in his glitching head that he decided not to fire at her, and in a brief moment of clarity, posed a question instead. āWhere are you going?ā It was⦠more confused than angry, for the moment.Ā
"Rock?" Her voice went low, lost the frantic edge. Seeing him lose it was⦠sobering. After a moment, her face evens out and her ton stabilizes into the cool, emotionless monotone that she usually spoke in.Ā
"Rock. Pull yourself together."Ā
"I-I hurt you." Again. Heād promised himself heād never do it again andā andā "I tore off your fuckinā arm. How can you be calm about this?!āĀ
"It can be reattached," she said simply. "My Lady has done worse to me. Now snap out of it. What is wrongĀ with you?!"Ā
