Hello!!!

I decided I should make a sideblog for my unhinged rambles about Hockey, instead of forcing it on all my mutuals who followed me for other things.

So here we are!!!

A little about me:

I got into hockey because of, shocker, heated rivalry.

Now, whenever people hear this, for some reason, they assume this means that I expect the sport to be exactly like the show, and just want the players to start kissing on the ice. So I supposed I should specify that I absolutely do not.

I am, though, a much newer fan, and still struggle with some of the rules and mechanics of the sport, so if I ever get anything wrong, please correct me! :).

Interests of mine that aren’t Hockey: writing(see my main blog for info about my fantasy series!), music, history, etc.

I’m based in America, though most of the players I follow are Canadian, so my fan-hood(is that a word??) tends to lean in that direction.

Fav nhl team by far, i absolutely adore my canes. I try to catch as many games as possible but if they overlap with a victoire game I’ll usually opt to watch the PWHL.

I follow along with them when I can, but games tend to overlap with those of teams I care about more.

I have yet to choose a side piece pdub team, so it’s kinda free real estate there rn.

Be kind. I know people get really heated over sports, but pls remember that at the end of the day, it’s just a game. Not everyone’s gonna have the same opinions as you, your team isn’t always gonna win, and that’s okay! Thats what makes this fun!

I am aware that the NHL is a severely homophobic and hateful organization, so I will make this clear right now: discrimination or hate speech is not allowed on this blog in any way or form. This blog, and the sport of hockey itself, is for everyone. Not just cishet white men.

The torrent drafted Abby Murphy, whose politics are notoriously not what I agree with, and I’m giving her and that organization the same treatment I gave the frost with Curl and not supporting them.

I have not heard of anything majorly problematic or against my personal beliefs from the kraken, so I don’t really have a reason to dislike them, hence them being higher up on their tier list. If they have done something that I’m unaware of please let me know.
