Final designs of the Energizer and Hyundai branded propane generator. Propane portable generators are unique in the type of fuel they use. Propane is readily available, easy to use, and safe to store. The fuel has an infinite shelf life for dependable start-ups in emergency power outages.

This was the current Energizer line of portable gas-powered generators and inverter-generator products.  

The energizer line of generators needed to be expanded to include a propane powered unit. Initially the goal was to utilize as many components of the current products as possible to avoid having to create additional tooling. Research was first completed to determine the current competitor products and their features. The first concepts involved removing the metal fuel tank and adding a propane hose which connected to the LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) tank situated on the ground next to the unit.

By limiting the hose length the tank could be restricted to being placed near away from the hot exhaust. This concept was very simple, but there were several opportunities to improve the design.

The Kié Bluetooth Headset is a small electronic product used for communicating while wearing a motorcycle helmet. The packaging was designed to add perceived value to the product. There were many extra parts including: mounting brackets, stickers, pouch, userguide, speakers, microphone, and charger that needed to be included in the packaging. 

The rear of the box shows the product features using easily identifiable icons. The front shows the various product applications. Inner boxes and an inner cavity in the main box were used to store the extra parts. All boxes were designed to be assembled with no glue.

The outer box displays the product through a window. The plastic hang tab is inserted during assembly. UV printing is used to draw attention to the product photos. 

A thermoformed plastic piece holds the product in place.

Inner boxes and main box flap organize the various parts for a clean display. Users can keep extra parts in the small boxes and discard the large box.
