Dal Dal

“It happens! My best friend keeps a list of annoying things I do, and tells me randomly which things fall on the list.” Like talking. A lot of people found his talkative nature to be annoying.  I’ve had people reject my help before. I can’t force people to like me or be my friend, but I want to try being friends with people before I decide on anything. A first or second or fifth bad impression won’t stop me either. I just don’t see the point in being mean to people!” 

 He stops, then smiles at the lady. “I’m Jon by the way!” Hand outstretched to offer a handshake. Manners were important.

“Are you sure that person is your friend?” 

Then again, she did the same with Moon Young and she figured they were friends. Kinda. 

“I guess I can kinda understand that,” she conceded with a sigh, she wasn’t the friendliest of people but she didn’t go out of her way to be mean unless she felt someone deserved it. “Still, you’re just a kid, you should be careful who you try and befriend, some people would happily take advantage of someone like you.”

She was a prime example of looks being deceiving.  

“It was once against the law to be Robin. The cops are always after us vigilantes. I think the only liked heroes by cops would be Superman and Wonder Woman. We’re not cops. We don’t have permission or legal systems for what we do.” 

“How am I meant to catch up on things back home....?” 

He laughed some more at her expense, letting the cat sniff him before he picked it up and put it in her face to taunt her. 

“Aw, why so mean? It’s just a little kitty.” 

She really wanted to not take the bait he was casting. Unfortunately, she was never very good at ignoring a hook. 

“Maybe it has and I just don’t choose to let it make me a super villain? Maybe I know what it’s like to need help and being friendless and stuck in a scary place and don’t want anyone else to be like that?”

“Shouldn’t we be full of energy though?”

“Choose only one of the two, yes or yes? ~ ♪ “

Living alone had some perks, having so much room to herself was a new and exciting prospect that had brought her mood right up. Up enough to have gone out and buy a large number of ingredients to make some home favourites. 

Pausing mid-song, she sipped the broth of the Yukgaejang, spicy shredded beef stew.

“Ah~ so good~” if she did say so herself. A few more minutes and she would be happily eating. But first, a drink. Skipping to the fridge, she opened it, buzzing with her good luck. 

Flip chuckled above her, offering his hand. 

“Maybe it thinks you’re a distant relative, with those ears of yours.” 

“Then it’s stupid!” she snapped, ignoring his hand and pushing herself up onto her feet. 

He hadn’t notice , he should , but he didn’t , attention elsewhere  and only realizing he was almost in the way when the cat-savior landed merely a foot in front of him , leaving the ginger standing awkwardly , shoulder stiffening , his hand too tightly wrapped around his lukewarm coffee cup.

 He is surprised enough to nail himself on the pavement , enough to lose reason , he could just move away after all and yet instead —    ❝  Er …  excuse me … ❞     words are muttered quietly , hesitantly ,  carefully as though not to startle a  ‘ wild animal ’  that was blocking his way.  ( Really why does he even TRY going out at this point. )   ❝  I’m sorry I’m just gonna — ❞ And he’s scooting away , nervous sort of steps until he’s far enough to … should he just run for it ?   

Shoichi considers , wonders if he should , was the burn in his lungs worth it to avoid embarrassment ?  Probably.   ❝ I’ll just … go. ❞  and he’s gesturing , stepping away further more. 

Her head snapped round as she realized he was there - while breathing an inward sigh of relief that she hadn’t messed up. 

There were generally two kinds of reaction from guys when the saw someone as cute* as she doing something so amazing as her little rescue. 

Gush and hit on her.

Panic, stutter and try to run away from the situation  ←

As a result, she was pretty used to it and had learned not to judge a man on his ‘deer in the headlights’ introduction. 

“I will!”

Sasuke thought he had set up a fairly desolate training area, but no matter what he did, someone else always found it. He had set it off in a far corner of the Cotes Ward for a few reasons. One: so he could be alone, and two: so that other people wouldn’t get in the way.

The girl that approached seemed interested in what he was doing, but instead of acknowledging her, Sasuke continued to practice his shuriken throwing. It seemed like he was being unnecessarily fancy with his technique though. 

He jumped, flipped, then tossed the weapons while still in the air– but he hit his targets dead on before landing. It might’ve seemed unnecessary, but it was all a part of practicing his aim and dexterity!

The city was too big, too busy. Dal Dal was also still trying to get her head around the whole thing, just to make matters all the more distressing. As a result, she had sought some kind of peace and quiet from the bustle. 

Having spotted him, she couldn’t help but be curious. In nine out of ten cases she would have just held back and watched or even moved on because she had better things to do.

Is she one of these super humans that air on TV sometimes? They are humans with animal ears, too. But, not always. They have to transform. Did she transform, too? Is she actually fighting some monsters, or mischievous villains? He definitely wouldn’t miss out the opportunity to beat up an evil monster’s butt!

Making a surprisingly skillfull salto forwards, he brings himself into fighting stance just right next to the girl, before he looks around warily, waiting for an enemy to suddenly pop up now. He’s excited.

The conflict wasn’t a big one - just some guys a few years her senior who had had a little too much to drink and couldn’t take ‘No thanks’ as an answer. 

Pretty harmless in the grand scheme of things. A few side steps and they would stumble before leaving with their tails between their legs. Easy. 

Then there was the penguin. And really, Dal Dal had no idea what to do but stare down at the flightless bird, wide-eyed and a little bit terrified. 

Warm weather naturally brought people out into the sun. The sun also brought out the more playful side of people and encouraged them to be active and make the more of the fair weather. 

Dal Dal didn’t mind that. In fact, it was kind of nice. People soaking in the golden rays while picnicking reminded her of home. 

What Dal Dal minded was being hit in the back of the head with a football. 

“Idiots!” she snapped as she slammed her foot into the ball which had come to rest after assaulting her a few foot away. 

“I’m gonna befriend EVERYONE on the island! And no one can stop me!”
