Some Uncommon Tools in Death Witchcraft
I feel like some materials that are commonly used in other paths are often overlooked by death witches. For example:
Bloodstone is not often mentioned, but has incredible potential for death work. It represents blood flow in the human body, and therefore can be used in spells in the same vein as actual blood is used. I mainly use it to connect to ancestors, but you may also use it for grounding, protection, and energy work.
Cascarillla (ground eggshells) have potential in the craft; they represent death of a conceived chick, and the protection of new life. It can be used in place of salt if you’re scattering it around plants, as it won’t harm the surrounding nature. You can even make a black salt out of it by grinding it with ash or charcoal, or dying the egg before the grinding it.
Banana bread can technically be a good offering, since it uses brown bananas oftentimes. Bread is also a common offering for the dead.
Many witches recommend harvesting plants when they’re still alive. For death witchcraft, there may be more power in harvesting dead plants. For example, fallen eucalyptus leaves would make a fine addition to any protection powder against malevolent spirits, due to its association with both protection and death.
Sea shells and snail shells are traditionally common in bone throwing for representing the bones of the sea and the bones of the earth, respectively. If you don’t have actual bones on you, these would make a nice substitute.
Although blood is often recommended for linking yourself to a spell, you may also use nail clippings, hair, saliva, or even tears.
Paper clips are an accessible, cheap source of steel, which is mainly iron. A great ingredient in protection spells.
Dawn is a great time to work with beginnings and afterlife, while dusk has potential for spells about endings.
Dirt from crossroads or the gate of a cemetery helps one connect to spirits, and cross over into the afterlife.
Don’t want to use bones? Use nail clippings, talons, teeth, or even snakeskin or furs.
10 Crystals For Empaths
Crystals have been used for thousands of years to protect and enhance personal energy. They have the ability to focus energy and generate minute electrical currents that interact with the currents in the human body and environment. Crystals are an amazing way to cleanse, amplify, and protect one’s energy.

Labradorite
Known as one of the most protective stones, labradorite creates an interface around the aura that filters out energies that are not beneficial and enhances spiritual connection. It allows one to be aware of other’s feelings and emotions without being overwhelmed by them. Labradorite enhances physic abilities, aligns physical and subtle bodies, and strengthens the aura.
Tip: If you’re prone to nightmares and restless sleep, try holding a labradorite palm stone at bedtime. I sleep with one every night and it has helped me immensely. Just remember to cleanse it in-between uses!

Celestine
Also known as celestite, this high vibrational stone links one to higher realms and stimulates spiritual insights. It facilitates inner peace, helps to disperse anxieties and calm the emotions while promoting clarity of mind. This beautiful crystal heals the aura, assists in conflict resolution, and helps maintain a harmonious atmosphere in times of stress.
Tip: Try meditating with one of these stones and record any insights you might have in a journal afterwards. I’ve been amazed at some of the profound breakthroughs I’ve had while spending time with this amazing crystal.

Lithium Quartz

Lithium quartz is an excellent cleanser for the body’s energy centers and is extremely useful as a healer for plants and animals.
Tip: If feeling lethargic or low on energy, carry a small lithium quartz point with you in your pocket. Lithium quartz can function like an emotional battery for those that are sensitive to the vibration of this stone.

Black Tourmaline
Black tourmaline, also known as schorl; protects agains cell phones, electromagnetic smog, radiation, ill wishing, and negative energies of all kinds. Tip: Black tourmaline is super effective as a gem elixir that can be added to cleansing sprays and used to purify the aura.

Rose Quartz

Fluorite

Emotionally, fluorite has a grounding effect.

Carnelian

It calms anger and assists in banishing emotional negativity, while sharpening concentration. Mentally, carnelian improves analytic abilities and clarifies perception.
Tip: Carnelian placed near the front door of a home invokes protection and invites abundance.

How to Motivate Yourself
1. Visualize yourself succeeding. Imagine what you will be doing, how you will look, how others will be reacting or relating to you, how you will feel …
2. Break your main goal down into lots of smaller, more manageable pieces. Then, just do “the next thing”. Don’t get bogged down by everything you still have to do!
3. Remind yourself that every tiny bit of effort, and work, counts. It all adds up and makes a difference in the end.
4. Make a start – even if you’re just committing yourself to doing 10 minutes of something you don’t want to do. Often the hardest part is overcoming the initial feeling of dread or inertia.
5. Put on some of your favourite upbeat music. That can help to get your moving, and also change your mood.
6. Get a friend – who also wants to improve their motivation – to join in the commitment to see this project through. It’s easier when others are hanging in there with you – and you also keep each other more accountable.
💫 The Main Signs of a Spiritual Awakening 💫
The majority of people are not fully aware of how truly difficult and confusing a spiritual awakening can be. It is not beautiful in the beginning.. As with all transformations, the first steps deal with endings and destruction. We are constantly lead to experience challenges, changes, and forces of nature that completely strip apart our attachments to the material world without even realizing it is happening. Every time our ego fights back, we are met with karmic patterns of the lesson the universe, or higher power, is attempting to teach us. It is important to remember that we are souls inhabiting human bodies.
Our energy is ever lasting but this material world we know is not promised a forever. We are constantly working towards spiritual growth and evolution. A spiritual awakening occurs when you realize there is more to life than earthly desires. There is more to us than our attachments, our ego, and our material possessions. Once you realize this, things begin to change, as you will perceive the world in an entirely different way than you did before. At first, you will feel overwhelmed and confused. A lot of people remain in the beginning phases of a spiritual awakening out of fear. Listed below are the major signs you are experiencing an awakening of the soul. The first sign listed is typically the first experience you will have but everything else will not necessarily come to you in any particular order.
1. Karmic Patterns, Meaningful Coincidences, Number Sequences, Repetitive Dreams, Symbols or Signs ✨
The very first thing a person experiences is some form of cosmic pattern or sequence. You will “feel” as though you are being targeted for some sort of message. Whatever repetitive situation you are experiencing serves as your main lesson at the time and you must pay attention to what is happening to you while you witness the signs. This can come in the form of similar toxic relationships or engaging with the same negative people one after another, seeing the same numbers on a clock or other object often (1:11, 1:23, etc), having the same dream frequently, seeing animals, objects, or hearing the same phrases or words over and over again.
2. Realization of the Ego, Acknowledging Mistakes, Confronting Your Personal Demons, Toxic Habits, and Wrongdoings ✨
This is likely one of the most challenging phases to overcome - the ego itself. Often, when we know we have done something wrong, we will strive to ignore it or refuse to take accountability altogether. When going through an awakening, you will feel the urge to fix your mistakes and grant closure to those you have harmed in any way. You will feel genuine remorse for your wrongdoings and look to confront the people you have hurt in order to provide them with closure and to provide yourself with growth. You will feel called to apologize, make amends, and move along. Doing this will allow you to let go of the burdens and toxic habits holding you down. Whether or not these people choose to forgive you is up to them and them alone, but it is the fact that you owned up to your toxicity that matters. This is you letting go of your ego and allowing your spirit to take over you. Your “true” self is taking form now.
3. New Perspective, Epiphanies, Altered Outlook ✨
As you begin to see the world, and yourself, in a different light, everything becomes brand new to you. Everything will seem much more vivid, lively, and detailed. You will find yourself paying attention to things you never would have given a second glance before your awakening. You will find interests in new topics, projects, people, and places you never thought to engage in. Those around you will be shocked at your change in character - with some people encouraging and congratulating your transition, while others will be envious and spiteful of you. Let the behavior of others serve as a message to you about who they are.
4. Relationship Changes, Disconnection With Society, Endings ✨
One of the very first experiences you will through in a spiritual awakening is the realization that the personified ego projected from each individual is not a true reflection of who they are.. Once you realize this for yourself, you will begin to see the toxicity and the attachments other people possess - influencing you to disconnect from them if you feel they do not carry the same vibration as you. How they react to your distance and your separation from them shows you who they truly are inside and you will often find that your assumptions about them were correct. You will realize just how wrong certain people were for you and what lessons they were called to teach you through their behaviors. This is your intuition and your soul opening up and expanding. Your soul is no longer being weighed down by human egotism - instead it is moving along.
5. Enhanced Intuition, Empathy, and Compassion ✨
Your dreams will begin to present you with predictions and future happenings. Your heart and mind will start to tell you about certain people, places, and situations as though your heart and mind know things before they should. You will be able to “feel” or sense the emotions of others before you even see them or speak a word to them. You will feel much more connected to nature, to earth, and to humanity. Its need for healing and light becomes your focus. There is no longer a separation between you and others, as your ego is now fading or completely gone - you will feel as though you are one with every living thing.
6. Decreased / Lacking Fear of Death ✨
As you go through the transition of your awakening, you will not see death as the end for you. You will have come to realize that death is just the beginning, as energy can neither be created nor destroyed. You know your soul will stand the tests of Father Time and cycle through the universe again and again in different forms. You will realize that everyone you have lost is not truly gone - they are with you forever and you are forever with them.. floating through this universe and its energies for eternity.
7. Increased Self-Care, Routines, and Lifestyle Changes, Appreciation for the Physical Body ✨
Though your attachment to your human form will decrease, you know it is still important to take care of the body you are holding. You will go through diet changes, improved skin care and health care routines, and you will appreciate and cherish the body you inhabit for all that it is. The flaws you once saw will rarely hold importance to you now. You know that what truly matters is what is on the inside and that anyone who truly cares for you will not pay attention to your physical appearance. You will be grateful to experience a new perception of life.
8. Positive Relationship with Self and Others ✨
As you grow and prosper, you will engage with like-minded individuals who serve to continue expanding and evolving with you instead of working against you. This does not mean you will be completely free from toxic people; being empathetic and spiritually involved, you will constantly attract individuals who want to suck out your energy and light. The positive relationships in your life will help protect you from negative people and keep you from straying away from your spiritual journey.
9. Tests, Challenges, Delays ✨
To ensure you are on the correct path, the universe, or the higher power, will constantly produce tests for you to ace. These tests can come in the form of ex friends or lovers resurfacing, sudden disappointments or setbacks, as well as losses, separations, or mental / emotional attacks that challenge your body and soul. As you overcome these issues, you will grow stronger, wiser, and more resilient to the negativity and evil of the world.
10. Creativity, Attraction to Art, Metaphysics, and Ancient Practices ✨
You will feel inclined to express the energies, emotions, and lessons you are receiving through creative outlets such as drawing, painting, writing, crafting, singing, dancing, etc. Creativity is one of the most unique and expressive ways to share your voice and your passions with the world, after all. You will also feel drawn to the energies that earth has to offer - through its plants, flowers, crystals, fossils, celestial bodies, and elements. This may lead you to indulge in divination tools, astrology, meditation, and spiritual healing through metaphysical means. These methods are only useful to your spiritual body - be sure to continue relying on the proper medicine and healing needed for your physical body, as well.

How To: Make Ink from Flowers
This is by far the most abundant ink I have in my house is that of inks made from flowers. This is the easiest and fastest inks to be made and require the least amount of materials to produce brilliant and soft colors. The inks from flowers can be either stunning and dark, or a lighter and more pale like one would expect from watercolor. Flower inks don’t last as long as inks produced from berries or nuts, and being left in the sunlight will fade their colors faster, but since this ink is so fast and easy to make, it can always be in supply. The shelf life of this ink is about a month if kept in the dark, but this is dependent on the color itself.
Materials:
Glass containers (preferably mason jars or drinking cups)
A pestle or other wooden tool (to crush the flowers with)
Boiling water
Cheese cloth
Rubbing Alcohol or 100 Proof Vodka
Glass storage container
Optional: Gum Arabic

how to avoid guilt-tripping people accidentally (will be updated as i think of examples)
don’t insult yourself. it seems like you’re looking to make them feel bad for you. it also makes it look like you’re playing victim. (ex: “i’m a shitty person.” “i should just die.” “i’m just stupid.”)
say, for example, “i feel like you dislike me” instead of “you dislike me.” you don’t actually know how they feel and being accusatory like that is a huge turn off.
when apologizing, make it genuine. don’t bring up how you feel and instead apologize for how you made the other person feel. how you feel can be brought up later.
remind people that you genuinely want to get better and tell them to call you out when you exhibit problematic behavior.
it’s perfectly okay to be angry that your trauma left you with these symptoms, but that doesn’t make it okay to continue problematic behavior and make no effort to fix it. you can do it with some effort. i believe in you. and feel free to add on.

5 Ways to Let Go of Past Hurts…
“The only way you can accept new joy and happiness into your life is to make space for it. If your heart is filled full-up with pain and hurt, how can you be open to anything new?”
1. Make the decision to let it go. Things don’t disappear on their own. You need to make the commitment to “let it go.” If you don’t make this conscious choice up-front, you could end up self-sabotaging any effort to move on from this past hurt. Making the conscious decision to let it go also means accepting you have a choice to let it go. To stop reliving the past pain, to stop going over the details of the story in your head every time you think of the other person (after you finish step 2 below). This is empowering to most people, knowing that it is their choice to either hold on to the pain, or to live a future life without it.
2. Express your pain and your responsibility.
Express the pain the hurt made you feel, whether it’s directly to the other person, or through just getting it out of your system (like venting to a friend, or writing in a journal, or writing a letter you never send to the other person). Get it all out of your system at once. Doing so will also help you understand what specifically your hurt is about. We don’t live in a world of black and whites, even when sometimes it feels like we do. While you may not have had the same amount of responsibility for the hurt you experienced, there may have been a small part of the hurt that you are also partially responsible for. What could you have done differently next time? Are you an active participant in your own life, or simply a hopeless victim? Will you let your pain become your identity? Or are you someone deeper and more complex than that??
3. Stop being the victim and blaming others. Being the victim feels good it’s like being on the winning team of you against the world. But guess what? The world largely doesn’t care, so you need to get over yourself. Yes, you’re special. Yes, your feelings matter. But don’t confuse with “your feelings matter” to “your feelings should override all else, and nothing else matters.” Your feelings are just one part of this large thing we call life, which is all interwoven and complex. And messy In every moment, you have that choice to continue to feel bad about another person’s actions, or to start feeling good. You need to take respon have such power, right here, right now? No amount of rumination of analyses have ever fixed a relationship problem. Never. Not in the entirety of the world’s history. So why choose to engage in so much thought and devote so much energy to a person who you feel has wronged you?
4. Focus on the present the here and now and joy. Now it’s time to let go. Let go of the past, and stop reliving it. Stop telling yourself that story where the protagonist you is forever the victim of this other person’s horrible actions. You can’t undo the past, all you can do is to make today the best day of your life. When you focus on the here and now, you have less time to think about the past. When the past memories creep into your consciousness (as they are bound to do from time to time), acknowledge them for a moment. And then bring yourself gently back into the present moment. Some people find it easier to do this with a conscious cue, such as saying to yourself, “It’s alright. That was the past, and now I’m focused on my own happiness and doing _______________.” Remember, if we crowd our brains — and lives — with hurt feelings, there’s little room for anything positive. It’s a choice you’re making to continue to feel the hurt, rather than welcoming joy back into your life.
5. Forgive them and yourself.
We may not have to forget another person’s bad behaviors, but virtually everybody deserves our forgiveness. Sometimes we get stuck in our pain and our stubbornness, we can’t even imagine forgiveness. But forgiveness isn’t saying, “I agree with what you did.” Instead, it’s saying, “I don’t agree with what you did, but I forgive you anyway.” Forgiveness isn’t a sign of weakness. Instead, it’s simply saying, “I’m a good person. You’re a good person. You did something that hurt me. But I want to move forward in my life and welcome joy back into it. I can’t do that fully until I let this go.”
Forgiveness is a way of tangibly letting something go. It’s also a way of empathizing with the other person, and trying to see things from their point of view. And forgiving yourself may be an important part of this step as well, as sometimes we may end up blaming ourselves for the situation or hurt. While we indeed may have had some part to play in the hurt (see step 2), there’s no reason you need to keep beating yourself up over it. If you can’t forgive yourself, how will you be able to live in future peace and happiness?
I know this stuff is hard and that it’s incredibly hard to let go of one’s pain I’ve struggled with this myself. If we’ve held onto it for a long time, it feels like an old friend. Justified. It would be sacrilegious to let it go. Nobody’s life should be defined by their pain. It’s not healthy, it adds to our stress, it hurts our ability to focus, study and work, and it impacts every other relationship we have (even the ones not directly affected by the hurt). Every day you choose to hold on to the pain is another day everybody around you has to live with that decision. And feel its consequences.
