đŽ28 Day Witchy ChallengeđŽ
Hi lovelies! I hope you are all having a beautiful day! I have decided to make a 28 Day Witchy Challenge Post. This can be started at the beginning of the month or at any time. Itâs whatever you prefer.
This is geared towards all witches, new and old. This challenge is focused on taking care of you and your witchy self. I am starting off September with challenge one. Iâd love to see or know if y'all do it!!
đŽ DAY 1 - Take time out of your day to think about, write about, or draw what your witchy self looks like. What they are into. Their favorite witchy activity. Any details you can possibly think of.
đŽDAY 2 - Take the day to meditate. It can be about anything or nothing at all. Let your mind wonder and do itâs thing. Journal about it and let things come to you.
đŽDAY 3 - BUY SOMETHING WITCHY! This challenge is all about self-care for you and your witchy self, so it can be as simple as spending a dollar at the dollar store or buying something elaborate online. If there is no way you can buy something, try to find something. For example, go to the woods/Park and try to find a mushroom for an offering.
đŽDAY 4 - Piggy backing off of day 3, MAKE SOMETHING JUST FOR YOU AND YOUR CRAFT. Like all of these days, it can be something big or small. You can make a set of runes or maybe make yourself a picture for your alter. Just make it for YOU!
đŽDAY 5 - Watch or listen to something witchy. Charmed, Practical Magic, listen to some witchy music, anything!
đŽ DAY 6 - Spend some time in nature! Whether it is sitting on your lawn or taking a hike, or even a walk through the park, just take time to appreciate nature and Mother Earth and all she had given us.
đŽDAY 7 - Let an entire candle burn. I know this may sounds silly to some of you, but I am the type of person that struggles with this (unless doing a specific spell). So, just sit with your candle and watch it burn. Feel free to multitask while doing this. Just try to focus on it now and again. It can be a birthday candle or a very large candle, whatever works for you.
đŽDAY 8 - Make a special cup of tea. If youâre not a tea drinker, try a different kind or hot coco or coffee. When making, focus in your intent. When drinking, focus on all the different flavors you taste and sensations you feel.
đŽDAY 9 - Journal about the elements and what they mean to you.
đŽDAY 10 - Make a list of new worst things you can try. It can be anything like talking more walks or a new spell!
đŽ DAY 11 - Journal about your deities/higher power. What they mean to you. If you donât have any, then try to journal about the energies around you. What you feel and the power.
đŽ DAY 12 - Piggy backing off of day 12, write down/find a new way you can honor your deities or energies that you journaled about. And if itâs possible, do it! It can be anything from a leaf you found to an elaborate meal. It can be simply praying.
đŽDAY 13 - BATH OR SHOWER MAGIC! This is pretty self-explanatory, but try to just take some time and take a magical bath or shower. It doesnât have to be elaborate, or it can! Try to just focus your intent and maybe try a shower or bath meditation. There are a ton of different things here on Tumblr, so get creative!
đŽDAY 14 - Spell Jar!! There are a TON of spell jars on Tumblr and all over the internet. You can use those or make your own! They are very easy and great if youâre low on spoons!
đŽDAY 15 - Cook! If you arenât able to cook due to physical reasons, or even lack of time, then try to eat something special. Regardless, cook or at least eat something that inspires you or harnesses your intent.
đŽDAY 16 - PRAYER! This is pretty self-explanatory, but try to honor and show your intent. Ask even, for guidance, hope, strength, whatever!
đŽDAY 17 - Sky watching! You can watch the Moon and stars or just the clouds go by.
đŽDAY 18 - Journal about what magick means to you. Go into as much detail as possible.
đŽDAY 19 - SIGILS! Make your own sigil! Focus your intent and be creative! If there is no way you can come up with your own, then feel free to use one from the internet.
đŽDAY 20 - Alter time!!! Try to redecorate your alter! If you are in the broom closet, then maybe draw one!
đŽDAY 21 - Journal about ways you can, from now on, nurture yourself. Whether itâs teas, baths, putting on makeup, whatever! Make lists or just woke about the things you want to do!
đŽDAY 22 - Worry Stone! You can find one or make one or but one, itâs totally up to you! Which brings us tooooooooooooâŚâŚ
đŽDAY 23 - Cleanse and charge your items!! There are umpteen different ways you can cleanse and charge your items, just pick one! Please make sure that however you cleanse and charge your items, it is safe for them.
đŽDAY 24 - PLANTS! Take care of your plants, harvest a plant, buy a plant, even take some time to talk with your plants!
đŽDAY 25 - SCAVENGER HUNT! No, not literally. But, go find something that nature has given you. A mushroom, a leaf, anything! Place it on your alter and honor it! By honoring it, you honor Mother Nature and all that she has created. Including you!
đŽDAY 26 - Do a glamour!! This can be anything from enchanting your chapstick to make you feel loved or carrying a self-love charm bag. Get creative with it! Try to make your intent focus on love from yourself or self-confidence!
đŽDAY 27 -MAKE YOUR OWN SPELL! Literally, just have fun with this. Use your alter, use your journal entries and the internet and books! Get creative! Focus your intent and be specific! It can be low spoons or high spoons. Whatever works for you!
đŽDAY 28 - MEDITATE! Meditate about the past 28 days and all the work youâve done! Think and focus on your craft and all the self-care you have worked for!
I hope y'all enjoy this! Please let me know if you do it! Iâd love to hear y'allâs thoughts! Feel free to edit this however you want! Make it work for you! I hope all you lovelies are have a beautiful day/night! đ

Quartz Crystal
Folk names: Crystal, Witchâs Mirror, star stone, iris (from the prismatic effect of crystal quartz), Zaztun (Mayan)
Energies: Projective, receptive
Planets: Sun, Moon
Elements: Fire, water
Deity: The Great Mother
Associated Metals: Silver, copper, gold
Associated herbs: Copal, mugwort, chicory, sage, sweetgrass
Powers: Protection, healing, psychism, power, lactation
Magical/Ritual lore:Â Long thought by ancients to be solidified water or ice, quartz crystal has been used in religious and shamanistic systems for thousands of years. Because of its connection with water it has been utilized to magically create rain in many parts of the Pacific, including Australia and New Guinea.
Traditionally, quartz was utilized in the Eleusinian mysteries to produce the sacred fire by concentrating the heat of the Sun to ignite wood chips. I say âtraditionallyâ because we donât know much about these ancient, secret rituals.Â
Quartz was in common use among North American Indians in rite and spell, and ceremonial wands topped with quartz crystal has been found in southern California. Cherokee shamans, acknowledging the crystalâs power, kept it wrapped in buckskin when not in use. At regular intervals it would be âfedâ deerâs blood. It is a common component of shamanâs power bags or medicine bundles.Â
Contemporary Wiccans wear quartz, often combined with silver, during Full Moon rituals. Because it is also Goddess-symbolic, quartz crystal spheres are often placed on the altar during lunar rituals. Itâs icy cold temperature represents the sea.Â
Two quartz crystals can also be placed on Wiccan altars to represent God and Goddess, the two primal, creative powers of the universe. Some place a natural crystal to represent the God and a sphere for the Goddess.Â
In shamanistic terms, the quartz crystal is the shaman, and the shaman is the crystal. There is no difference between the two. As such, it is the perfect tool of the shaman and it is utilized in rituals throughout the world.Â
Mystically, quartz crystal is symbolic of the spirit and intellect of human beings.
Quartz crystals are currently enormously popular. Their use in healing, altering consciousness, and magic have linked them to the spirit of the New Age. Long neglected by most of the world, save for their industrial applications, quartz crystal are today a huge commercial business.
There are a few herbs specifically used to cleanse quartz crystal. Sage and sweetgrass, two North American healing and purifcatory herbs, are both associated with quartz crystal and, in shamanism, are herbal counterparts to the stone. Make an infusion (tea) of either or both of these herbs by adding two tbs to nearly boiling water. Let them sit for at least a day in the infusion, the dry and hold in your receptive hand. if the stone feels âclearedâ, it is ready for magic. If not, return to the infusion until it has done its work.
Clear or white quartz crystal is perhaps best known to the general public for stimulating psychism. Though most crystal spheres sold today are plastic or glass, true quartz crystal spheres are also available at fantastically expensive prices. Though well worth the cost to those who can afford them, crystals need not be worked by human hands to be magically effective, nor must they be pure, or free of inclusions.
In fact, many crystal scryers ir gazers utilize the inclusions, veils, and tiny prisms within crystals to enhance themselves. And simply gazing into any crystal point can produce psychism.
In the Renaissance, most scrying stones, or crystal balls, were fashioned of beryl, not clear crystal quartz. Crystal, however, was used in magical operations. It was sometimes half covered with pure gold and set on a base of ivory or ebony wood. This was used as an instrument of contemplation to awaken the psychic mind.
In nineteenth century European magic, the crystal sphere was placed beneath the pillow to create a rapport with the scryer, enhancing its effectiveness.
A crystal sphere can be exposed to the light of the Full Moon to strengthen its powers. Before scrying, a tea of mugwort or chicory is sometimes drunk, and fresh mugwort rubbed onto the crystal.
For protective purposes this stone is worn, carried or placed in the home. In the fourteenth century, the quartz crystal was engraved with the image of a man in armor holding a bow and arrow. The stone guarded its wearer and the place where it was situated.
Quartz crystal is used as a powerful amplifier during magic. It is worn or placed on the altar for this purpose. Wands of crystal are also quite popular at this time.
Thirteen crystals (representing representing the lunar year) or twenty one crystals (thirteen Full Moons plus the eight ritual occasions of Wicca) can be used to physically construct the magic circle, in which Wiccan rituals and magical rites are held. Situate the crystals with the points facing inward for religious ritual, meditation, or general magic, and with the points outward for defensive or protective magic. Quartz pebbles or tumbles polished stones may also be used.
A âcrystal gardenâ can be easily fashioned if you have several crystals. Fill a large wooden or white earthenware bowl with white sand. Then set the crystals in the sand with their points upward. There are no particular directions as how to place the crystals, so use your imagination.
You may wish to trace a pentagram (five-pointed star) on the sand using a crystal then place one at each point and one in the center. This confers magical protection.
Workers utilizing the power of the elements may use five stones, four aligned with the directions (which relate to the elements) with the fifth in the center, representing Akasha, or the fifth element. This will empower your elemental magic.
Crystals may be set in a spiral formation for use as a focal point during meditation. The spiral is symbolic of spiritual evolution and reincarnation.
The crystal garden is a place of power, an altar of stone magic, a meditative device, and a protective ward for the home.
In magic performed in salt, earth or damp sand at the beach, runes or magic images can be traced with the tip of a quartz crystal. While drawing, send energy through the crystal to the image.

BloodstoneÂ
Folk names: Heliotrope, hermatite (which is a different stone)
Energy: Projective
Planet: Mars
Element: Fire
Associated Herb: HeliotropeÂ
Powers: Halting bleeding, healing, victory, courage, legal matters, wealth, strength, power, business, invisibility, agriculture
Magical/ritual lore: Bloodstone, a green chalcedony flecked with red spots, has been used in magic for at least three thousand years. In ancient Babylon, the stone was carried to overcome enemies and was used in ancient Egypt to open doors, break bonds, and even cause stone walls to fall.
Its most famous use is to halt bleeding. It was frequently carried by soldiers to either avoid wounds or as magical first aid. When pressed on wounds, the stone caused the bleeding to stop. Though this was considered to be pure magic, the effect was probably due to the pressure and the cool temperature of the stone. Today it is still worn to keep the blood healthy and to help cure blood-related diseases. A bloodstone held to the nose is said to âlockâ i.e.; to stop the flow of blood.Â
It was also worn to cure fevers and as a general health-giving talisman.Â
Magical uses: Because of its associations with blood, it is a popular stone with athletes. They wear it to increase physical strength and to win competitions. It is also worn to lengthen the life span.Â
The bloodstone that is worn lends courage, calms fears, and eliminates anger. It has long been used in spells designed to secure victory in court and legal matters.
Because it is green, it is utilized in wealth, money and business spells. A bloodstone kept in the cash register draws money. Carried in the pocket or purse, or worn, it also attracts wealth. In this regard, since food and money are magically connected, it was a farmerâs talisman in the Middle Ages, worn during planting to increase yield of crops.
Women hung a bloodstone on the arm to prevent miscarriage and, later on the thigh to ease childbirth.Â
For invisibility, the bloodstone was smeared with fresh heliotrope flowers and worn or carried. This was said to dazzle the eyes of the bearerâs beholders. Today this ritual may be used for âmagical invisibilityâ - when you wish to lie low and not attract attention to yourself.Â
In the thirteenth-century, bloodstones were engraved with the figure of a bat. These talismans were worn by magicians to increase the effectiveness of spells and magical rites.
