Hi friend,

I’m so happy to hear you are starting to explore your craft! In terms of what you need — I don’t think starting out you need any specific tools. Yes lots of witches practice with crystals, cards, and candles; but I believe in the beginning working with your specific intentions is what’s most important. Eventually moving through your craft and learning you will find what resonated with you and your witchcraft style.

I do however recommend you pick up the book Witchery by Juliet Diaz to help learn more about the practice. I think it will give you guidance starting out

And remember, many of us say “practicing witchcraft” because we are constantly learning and exploring our own craft. With intention and some practice of simple spells I think anyone can become a witch.

I know a lot of you, like myself, are struggling with depression during this pandemic and falling away from your craft. Remember, you don’t have to do rituals, divination, casting, or any traditional witchcraft to still be in touch with your magic.

Something as simple as loving on your animals, watching a thunderstorm, taking a walk in nature(if you are able), or making your daily tea or coffee is magic if you want it to be.
