This song has saved me SO many times. I listen to it whenever I need a moment with God because it reminds me that I am stronger now more than ever. Take a listen :)
Vocations
Many people grow into young adulthood loving the church, who have embraced the life of faith and service. Many of these people serve in their youth ministries, goes to church regularly, teaches Catechism, etc. And many of these people are suddenly faced with the question â or sometimes suggestion â to serve in vocation of the church. Become a priest or a nun. I have many friends who have faced this question. And a damn hard question that is. There is nothing better than being in full service of God. Now, if you're one like many of my friends, should you choose priesthood/nunhood or go a different way. This question was answered in my trip to World Youth Day 2013 in Rio. But now, it is clearer than ever. If you've never been to World Youth Day, it'd be awesome to know that during your stay, there are Catechisms every single day, which is followed by mass. You get guest speakers from all over the world! At the end of every talk, there's a Q&A where you can ask anything. The topic of vocation came up on the third day. And the answer to this question was simple: If you love the church more so than the idea of marriage or family life, then priesthood or nunhood is for you. If you don't, it is not a big deal. Of course, God will always be happy to welcome you into this vocation but marriage is also a sacrament. A sacrament given by God. Feeling guilty? Because you would like to serve God but don't have enough time to serve the church? This does not mean you are actually not in service of God himself. Of course, we need to make time to serve God and keep serving the church as often as we could, but here's the thing â there is an âalternativeâ way to say âYesâ to God. Prior to World Youth Day 2013, I was active in church more than usual. We had a lot of fundraisers and spiritual preparation for the upcoming pilgrimage. Needless to say, we were united in Christ. Many people go to World Youth Day in search of fate. What are we called for? What is our purpose on Earth? A lot of hope went in finding that answer. Many of my friends definitely found their answers, some have not. Were we as active as we were prior to World Youth Day? Not everyone. Including me. I'm an actor. Before and after WYD, I have been working full time to save up so that I can move into a bigger city to pursue this dream. My particular question have been, is this the right path for me? Is this what God really wants me to do? Many times, he has answered this. Yes, it is. At least this is what I am here to do for now. Who knows what He has in store for me in 5, 10, 15 years? But it is for now. I can truly say that my faith has not diminished after WYD, even if I'm not active in church. However, I fully believe that I'm still in service of God. How? I don't go to my Youth Ministry meetings anymore, I just go to church on Sundays. Here is my realization. Being an actor, musician, painter, journalist, author etc. These are all jobs that do not promise certainty or stability. No consistent annual salary, bonuses, paid vacations, etc. These jobs are in full service of faith. A leap of faith. Because there is no certainty, we are fully committing to lifting our lives to God and what he had laid out for us. We are following His will. This is another type of service to God. We are always saying to ourselves to be more in service outside of our church. A leap of faith is an opportunity to do that. This, however, does not mean that I'm encouraging you to quit the church and go. The Sabbath day always need to be Holy. Listen to your heart because you, as a Christian, know what is right and wrong. And that is the voice of God speaking to you. Listen to it. Being an artist, or having a keen talent to be a biologist, these are all opportunities in serving God. Using those talents that he so carefully picked for us. That is in service of God. That is utilizing His gifts. In the end, it is always encouraging when we serve our church. But know that God has given us so much more. A church in our hearts. God created this beautiful Earth, henceforth, go travel. See the world. And come back a stronger Christian.

In the morning, we should wake up and say, âFather, thank You for another beautiful day. I commit this day, my plans and my future into Your hands.â When you start the day like this, you are acknowledging God. He promises to crown your day with success. When you are driving on the freeway say, âFather, thank You for keeping me safe.â At the office say, âLord, help me to be focused and productive today.â At home, âFather, bless my children.â Before you go to bed, âLord, thank You for a good nightâs rest.â When youâre acknowledging Him in all your ways, He promises to direct your paths. He promises to lead and guide you into paths of peace, joy and everlasting life! www.facebook.com/naeemcallaway
How do you turn things over to God? Start by making the choice and declaring your resolve. Simply say, âFather, I choose to let You be God of this situation. I take my hands off. I trust You.â Then, choose to worship Him. Worship is one of the best ways to set your heart and mind in the right place. You canât worry and worship at the same time! Worship is a sign that you are trusting God; worry is a sign that you are trying to control things.

Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust. (Psalm 40:4, NKJV.)
No matter what you are facing in life today, trust that Almighty God will come through for you. Trust that His Word is always true. In Psalm 32, David calls God his âhiding place.â In other words, when you place your trust in God, you can find refuge in Him. You are actually hidden from the enemy when you choose to trust.
Always remember, when circumstances seem overwhelming, donât look at whatâs happening around you; look to God. He is the author and finisher of your faith. Choose to trust that He is the one who is ordering your steps. Find security in knowing that He is making your crooked places straight and your rough places smooth. Trust in Him and live in the blessing and everlasting life He has prepared for you!
At Your Name, Phil Wickham
If you are facing difficulty today, if there seems to be massive walls standing in the way of your breakthrough, remember, praise precedes the victory. Why donât you do like the Israelites and give a shout of praise anyway. Stand and believe that God is at work even if you donât see it. Before long, those walls will come down, and youâll move forward into the victory He has prepared for you!
A Prayer for Today
âFather in heaven, thank You for Your promise of victory. I choose to stand in faith, giving You the praise until I see my breakthrough. Thank You for strengthening me and directing my every step. In Jesusâ Name. Amen.â

âTaste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Himâ (Psalm 34:8).
Where do you take refuge when the storms of life come? Where do you go for comfort and safety? Some people find it easy to turn to their friends, their job, or even a bowl of ice-cream! Thereâs nothing wrong with any of those things, but God the Father wants us to turn to Him first. He wants us to take refuge in Him. He longs to protect us and defend us and give us His strength. We serve a good God, and when we take refuge in Him, He will pour out His abundant blessing in our lives. Taste and see that the Lord is good today. Taste and see that His promises are good. When you turn to God, the Bible promises that you will find rest and refuge for your soul. No matter what you may be facing today, come to the Father. He will give you His peace and strength, and youâll live the blessed life He has prepared for you!
Most rappers grew up thugs and have probably done worse crimes than this teenage girl in their youth. Mark Wahlberg beat an old Vietnamese man, blinding him in one eye, when he was 16. For many teens shoplifting is a right of passage. So throw stones if you were a teenage saint. We have to root for people to do better; it affects humanity as a whole when people are given a chance to do better. It's easy to be hateful and judgmental; it's harder to be empathetic and give people chance(s). You don't know what this girls up-bringing or environment was like. My brother adopted a 4 year old girl from a drug addicted mother who couldn't take care of her. She is 6, now, and she gives everyone hell, but we have to be patient and provide love and support. I'm sure when she is 16 she'll be even more challenging, but I hope she'll be given all the chances to fall down and get back up.
