White Water

The Throne plays a part in the greed and power of the realm but the threat of the white walkers in meant to beat out the desire for the power and glory of the throne.

The show runners decided the battle for power would make them more money so they made it the main focus. And thats why they fucked up the ending so bad. Rather than people who are good and bad and want power banding together to defeat an world-ending threat the last season became about who wins the power in the end.

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting the Tammy speech. How it was originally given was kind of a move on from Mike thing on Robins part. HOWEVER, the way Will used the speech gave it a whole new meaning and context.

Her speech was overlayed with his flash backs was the part where he has to come back to his younger self to find his true power. I think for Will he felt powerless after the upside down and pushed away pieces of himself that made him feel like himself but were considered weak. He ended up not doing as much art, destroying castle byers, and pushing Mike to be with Eleven. In his flashbacks he's an artist, loves his family, and is gay. Ultimately the aspects of his identity that were supposed to make his powerless made him into a literal superhero.
