Taking in appearance she chuckled lightly. “The pleasure is mine.” Making herself as comfortable as possible she crossed her legs and set her hands in her lap for now. “Not very long. Just the past few months. I mainly moved to be with my family. What about yourself?” 

Mattie really hadn’t been paying much attention when she heard the sound of the coughing, she looked up. “Oh I didn’t realise how packed it had gotten.”She said looking around at the amount of people that had appeared. “Sure you can take a seat.” She smiled as she picked up her mug pretending to drink it.

      he’s not someone jake recognises but he knows the marks anywhere. black runes etched delicately, easily mistaken by mundanes for intricate tattoos. he has enough of his own to understand what this means. though his boss hadn’t mentioned there was another shadowhunter in town when they ordered him here - must be from another institute. “hey-” he nods in greeting, not waiting for an invite to join him. “long way from home ??”

Moving to take a seat her eyes watched him as he moved through the restaurant. It was very sweet of him just to offer to allow her to sit next to him. “I’m Gabriella Ryan.” She greeted holding her hand out for him to shake if he wanted.

After everything that Rory had been through the past year, she deserved this. Or at least that’s what she told herself after realizing she was throwing back shots before five o’clock in some creepy town. That she couldn’t leave. Maybe ever. Not rock bottom, not rock bottom, the blonde chanted to herself. Lied to herself? Who knows, really. One way to find out. Lime fresh on her tongue, Rory turned to the stranger beside her. “Judging or joining?” 

The offer caught her off guard. The brunette looked at him for a moment before eventually giving him a nod. “That is a very nice offer. I would actually enjoy that. I can save us a table.” She offered even if it was clearly not needed.

Peace and quiet, that’s what she needed, even though she did get it over the Christmas, minus her friends. Thankfully she was now in her favourite cafe,tucked away as she read something she had got from somebody who kept in contact with her family, old letters her brother never sent her. 

She ignored the rest of the world around her,not even caring about the person that was standing near her table. The sound of the cough caught her attention but not enough to tear her eyes away from the page. “I’m sorry, do you need something?”

like most folks, samson had spent new year’s eve drinking himself into the new decade. although, it wasn’t at a party with friends like most of them. alone in his apartment, not unlike a lot of his nights. and alone in the morning, with too bright light streaming in through his windows and a desperate need for caffeine. and he was still out of beans.

“But see the thing is, you have failed your jobs. Every day more and more mundanes become aware that we exist. While they’re doing a splendid job of it over in the states, you can’t really say the same thing of it here. Have you spoken to the Clave recently?” 

A small laugh escaped Awan’s lips about the mentioning of Deadpool and despite the vulgar language of it the fallen angel liked his movies. She then fell silent as her mind wondered over what had happened recently these past few days. “I – I uh ran into someone from my past.” Her voice low. Awan didn’t know what to do about it and honestly she was LOST. 

The fallen angel shrugged. “Yeah, everyone is getting along for now.” It made Awan feel so uncomfortable just how they got along. She could remember how just about each specie was at each other’s throat and it was a massacre. “I believe he will be more judgmental than me since Casper is technically a child – now who would you rather have? Me, the LITERAL angel on your shoulder or a ghostly child?” 

Considering the words the brunette nodded. It seemed as if he really did believe the place was good. Taking consideration of the situation the vampire finally made a decision. “Okay. Then I will try the paella.” She said with the smallest of a smile. The squid ink didn’t sound that appetizing. 

It had been a long time since An had been in a human establishment meant for partying, and they were determined to do it right. Inside, everything hummed with energy–both human and otherwise. Dancing, his favorite, was happening all around–a very charged, sexual kind. An found he didn’t mind it a bit, though some could be even freer and without so much awkwardness or restraint. He walked up to the bar and ordered a gin and tonic, one of the drinks inspired by his people and yet less obvious than absinthe. “Do you have elderflower, by any chance?” They questioned the bartender.

Letting her eyes gaze up at him for a moment as she took in his appearance Gabriella eventually gave a shrug. “I have never eaten here before. I am uncertain of what exactly I should order.” She explained. It was a cop-out excuse for sure but she wasn’t certain if she should admit it was because of decor she second-guessed. “What is your favorite item?” 

The fallen angel shrugs as she gave him a small smile. “You are right about that – especially with the demonic activity rising.” It didn’t go unnoticed by Awan nor did the rumors of certain demons taking up residency. She shutter at the thought of running into any of those close to her former husband and feared what he might do if he learned of her status. Awan rolled her eyes. “Casper has nothing on me.” the woman crossed her arms over her chest. 

“I care so little about mundanes these days, to me they’re just props, distractions.” Of course, Caspian wasn’t going to beat about the bush here. “What part could shadowhunters possibly play as the veil tears in half?”

Taking a step in towards the shop Gabriella couldn’t help judging the little hole in the wall restaurant. If it was not for the reviews then she would not even imagine stepping foot in a place such as this. Letting eyes catch sight of the menu she looked over the different items and knowing that she necessarily didn’t even need the substance made her second guess the choice. Turning her head as she heard someone approach the brunette looked over at the male. “Would you like the menu? I’m not certain I will be ordering here.”
