Little spoon: I think this is a sense of vulnerability for him, and part of him accepting intimacy, he's a bit easier to move to the soft stuff that's unspoken then throes of passion. For him it's an opening/invitation to let his walls down, because His back is being guarded figuratively and literally while he sleeps by Luci rest with the devil are the few times he feels...safe.

It's an invitation to break down silently and be surrounded by warmth while you do and knowing you don't have to rebuild yourself till the morning comes, but for tonight you're no one and nothing but mine. And that's all you need to be in these isolated moments of tranquility.

Jealously: Luci is His first love and he hopes last as well and as such he feels petty a smidge. Is he embarrassed about it later? Maybe. But there are times where given the chance Luci will be pulled behind a curtain and promptly bitten and kiss attacked emphasis on the bitten. Rumblings of "am I not your chosen? So why do I see your eyes chose another? Must I remind you why you chose me?"

Lowkey his security blanket mentally is grabbing Lucis tail and having it in his palm or around his wrist, he holds it gently and rubs the spade, or traces each spike and curve reverently, mornings he might twirl it a little around his fingers, and then settle with it trapped in his palm bring rubbed and massages by two fingers while his arms are around luci

Oversized sleepy kitty certified he's an early bird because of the church but once Luci comes into his life he starts oversleeping Lowkey just because the devil has made his poor brain feel safe to rest 💜

As for overall style he's probably a healthy mix of builder and miner? Absolutely starts with the ugly ahh box house made of dirt or digging himself into the cliffside on the first night, because he forgot how long is the day phase is and how many mobs are spawning at night. Same goes for cave exploring, he gets so sucked in that the moment scary cave noise plays he SCREAMS LIKE A LIL GIRL HE IS AT HEART

Pretty quickly ends up with a stacked base though, maybe even extras like a watchtower and fence. Oh and he's absolutely a teamplayer, if someone joins he's immediately dropping half the inventory assuming they wanna build together.

No joke, when I woke up and checked my phone and saw a notif that you send me an ask I was positively surprised. And then I read the content of the ask. And my smile FELL.

Safe to say my mind was churning and moving the creative cogs trying to think of my answer while I was eating breakfast this morning haha

I now finally have some time to sit down and actually write it so here we go!

Eva:

Now, I wanted to write some kind of description of Eva's thoughts on Duke for a while now since I feel like their dynamic could be pretty interesting and complex given their similiarities and differences in values, priorities, and beliefs, but I never got around to it... yet.

In the context of your ask, though...

Like I've mentioned previously, especially in my writing about Devil and Vigilante, Eva isn't the type to believe rumours easily.

I have no idea how close Eva and Duke would be at that point, but I'd assume they'd at least be on neutral or fairly good terms.

Even so, the rumours would probably affect her.

Eva has always preferred to find things out for herself rather than blindly believe what other people say. She makes her own judgement based on her own observations and experiences. So she wouldn't immediately believe a rumour about Duke's death just because people are spreading it.

However, she also wouldn't dismiss it completely. A message about someone's inevitable death is too specific and too serious to feel like ordinary gossip. Even if she doesn't know the full circumstances, it would be enough to make her pay attention.

I also think Eva would be someone who reads people more than she listens to their words. She is used to noticing when someone is hiding something, avoiding a topic, or trying to present a certain version of themselves to others. She wouldn't need Duke to directly admit anything for her to become suspicious.

If she approached him about the rumours and he immediately tried to reassure her, she'd probably notice the way he does it. Whether he avoids certain details, dismisses the matter too quickly, or focuses more on convincing her not to worry rather than actually answering her questions, Eva would pick up on those small inconsistencies.

She wouldn't assume that means the rumour is completely true, but she would likely understand that there is more to the situation than Duke is telling her. Especially because, even if they aren't extremely close, she would probably know enough about his personality already to recognize that he is the type of person who would rather carry a burden himself than make others worry about him.

If he mentioned that he'd already spoken to the Healer or insisted that there was nothing to worry about, she probably wouldn't pry further. Eva isn't someone who forces people to open up when they clearly don't want to. She'd understand that pushing him would likely only make him retreat more.

But the conversation would still stay with her.

The way she'd look at him would probably reveal more than she intends. The concern would be visible in small ways: her brows slightly furrowed, her expression more serious than usual, her attention completely focused on him. There would be empathy there, but also something else. A quiet kind of distress. Almost like she is not only looking at him, but remembering something she would rather not revisit.

And eventually, she would probably say something along the lines of:

"..I know what you're doing. I know you're trying not to make everyone worry. But shutting them out won't make the blow any less painful."

"...They don't need your strong facade. They need you. Let them care for you while they still can. While you still have the time for them to do so."

...

Her voice would probably be quiet, but there would be something almost painfully honest about it. Something raw.

She wouldn't say it to lecture him or because she thinks she understands his situation completely. It would simply come from the belief that people deserve the chance to be there for someone they care about. To know. He shouldn't take that choice from them.

She would likely avert her gaze afterwards, letting the silence settle rather than trying to explain herself further.

If Duke does not say anything further, she would not push the conversation. She would leave him with what she said and allow him to decide what he does with it. Perhaps she'd also want to end it at that.

After that conversation, there might be a new layer of uncertainty/akwardness between them. Not because either of them had done anything wrong, but because Duke would have probably noticed that her reaction to the matter was perhaps a little more personal than she intended it to be. But at the same time maybe that'd incline him to try talking about it again with her or open up more? No idea how much he'd trust her to be actually vulnerable.

Ilian:

Ilian is someone who would probably be quite good at catching rumours. He listens, he observes, and he remembers. Of course, that does not mean he believes every single thing he hears. He is not naive enough for that.

For him, rumours are not necessarily about whether they are true or false. They are about what information can be found within them. Every word someone chooses, every conversation they have, every reaction they show: there is always something worth taking note of. Ilian is the type of person who collects all of it.

As for his relationship with Duke, I have no idea how close they would be, but I cannot imagine it being particularly warm. For many reasons I wanna write about someday later. Ilian, as always, does not have much interest in other puppets regardless of their status, and Duke being part of the nobility would probably not make him any more inclined to care. If anything, Duke might simply fall into the same category as many others in Ilian’s eyes: someone to observe rather than someone to connect with.

So when it comes to the rumour about Duke’s inevitable death, I do not think Ilian’s first reaction would be concern. He would probably just take it as another piece of information to file away.

Perhaps even an oddly convenient one.

Not because he cares about Duke enough for his death to affect him, but because, from Ilian’s perspective, there are worse things that could happen to someone in this theatre than leaving it peacefully.

So his only real thought might be: “Good for him.”

Mind the fact that the chance of him saying this to Duke's face or Duke knowing Ilian's opinion is unlikely since Ilian wouldn't really hang out around Dukemir often.

This ask actually makes me wanna write that opinion on Dukemir from Eva and Ilian's perspective now.. we'll see!

I feel like although the conversation between Eva and Dukemir might be awkward. Dukemir might try to still reassure her anyways with some unfortunately unintended gaslighting.

"What are you on about? Hehe, are you feeling well your majesty?"

Although it will take a lot of work Eva probably could get him to be vulnerable especially with that last part to claim that he is choosing something for others. He doesn't want to be known in her eyes as forcing them to not grieve him.

"I just.. I don't deserve their worry.. I- I mean-I make the tough decisions to ensure they are well. They have better things to do then to worry over. If i truly am a dead man walking, might as well walk until I'm dead. I will help until i turn to dust... uh- geez that got a little dark. Are you alright starlight?"

UGHH I hate that my son is so dumb istg RAHHH. But it might be extra awkward atleast Dukemir is opening up slightly to someone istg.

For Illian? I honestly dont see them interacting much either other than the occasional yoink if Dukemir sees Illian stealing or something. Its a casual yoink from one of Dukemir's magic to grab him but its kinda like a cat when you pick him up when hes doing something bad and put him somewhere else. I feel like they would never talk about Dukemir's health at all instead Dukemir might run into him and make sure hes doing alright, ask if he wants to join a tea party like Dukemir usual does and then walks off like usual. Pretending that nothing serious is going on.

Also I love Illians "oh good for him." While Dukemir's death is actually incredibly agonizing because "oh my skin is chipping off and Dukemir constant agony because the shell is what allows them to feel pain so all his sense of pain are going off constantly with every subtle movement including heart beating and breathing. And this has been happening for like 4-5 years and will continue to happen for another year before he dies.

Mostly because, for lore reasons, she is no longer in touch with her family and (also for lore reasons) denied herself creating one of her own long ago despite her quiet yearning to have one 😔

Just thinking of it makes me so sad but I cannot tell why but Eva's lore is kind of depressing in the denied yearning compartment :'D

You said he'd roll away to compose himself for a moment, but in the doodke he actually rolls into Eva's lower body, and I can't help imagining her reacting with a flicker of surprise before a small, calm smile tugs at her lips. She'd simply rest one hand on his head, gently combing her fingers through the back of his hair and over his braid, while the other settles on his shoulder.

What if he'd end up cuddling into her stomach instead? Maybe he'd slowly wrap an arm around her lower back?? I honestly don't know if he'd let himself do that, or if he'd be too embarrassed, too afraid, or simply unsure whether he should touch her at all. Gosh, there's something incredibly endearing about the idea of him keeping his hands tucked close to himself because he genuinely has no idea what to do with them..

At the same time, I think that if they'd reached this level of vulnerability together, Eva wouldn't mind his hands wandering in that sense. She might be caught slightly off guard now and then, but honestly, she's just as touch-starved as he is. </3

Also, Eva works out a bit so dw her thighs are strong enough to withstand the weight of his porcelain head and shoulders 😌 (no, not talking about the shampoo here lmao)

And Eva does wear lipstick or lip gloss sometimes! Just a little. She usually keeps her makeup very light, so a nude shade or the faintest hint of red is more than enough. Still, if she happened to be wearing a nude color or anything lighter than Luci's mask, it might leave the tiniest lipstick stain on it. xD

She'd immediately notice, gently wipe it off, and apologize... though the sight of Luci with a little lipstick mark on his mask would honestly be incredibly endearing haha

I never mentioned this before but

When I first learned about Luci's eye colour (I think it was through the rp reblog between Luci and royal siblings Prin and Principito I lowkey got taken aback because out of all the eye colours I somehow did not imagine him having green eyes.

After that, I couldn't stop imagining Eva's reaction if she ever caught her first glimpse of the emerald hue shining through the eyeholes of his mask. I think she'd experience a sense of awe and quiet surprise. It might sound a little corny, but I've always imagined Eva loving the color of his eyes because they would remind her of nature, which she adores. They'd also make her think of emeralds since she has a soft spot for jewelry and gemstones as well

Eyes are one of the first things Eva notices about a person. She genuinely believes in the saying that they're a window to the soul; that they can reveal so much more about someone than simple words sometimes, some things thay the other person won't say outloud..

Whenever Luci looked at her and she could see the soft emerald glow of his eyes, he'd probably catch her gently holding his gaze for a little longer than usual, quietly taking them in before she even realized she'd been staring.

So if he ever looked at her like that, like in the quote, it'd probably end in a quiet, lingering exchange of eye contact. Eva wouldn't just be admiring his eyes; she'd be captivated by the fondness she saw reflected in them. Like, admiring his admiration yk?? There's something about being looked at with that much quiet admiration that she'd find impossible to tear herself away from.. Which is wild considering she kept herself at arms-length with other people for so long that being in such postion as this would feel almost foreign. To be and let herself be admired like that. They are both similiar in this sense me thinks and it makes me ache in a good way </3

ALSO I feel like Eva would make him so flustered with how much she openly admires him. She'd compliment everything; his eyes, his ears, his hair, his hands, his voice... honestly, all of him. Not really bombarding him with the compliments to make him bashful on purpose, she'd just do it naturally whenever she felt she needed to show it. Sometimes with words, sometimes with little gestures like kissing his forehead or mask, running her fingers through his hair, or just holding him so gently. It's not really about his appearance on its own, though. Eva would fall in love with who he is first, and because of that, every little part of him would become beautiful in her eyes.

I can't with these two, they're genuinely too sweet for this world. It almost hurts even more when I think about the tragedy surrounding their situation, especially from my perspective knowing about [Eva lore: redacted].

But at the same time... maybe they're exactly what the other needs. Maybe being together (romantic or platonic) gives them the chance to face things they've been avoiding, to heal parts of themselves they thought were beyond repair. Who knows: maybe they could become each other's remedy for the wounds they've been carrying for so long.
