LOVE | Villa Santo Sospir

Villa Santo Sospir sits in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, on the French Riviera. The villa has been “tattooed” by Jean Cocteau. For the majority of the frescoes, Jean Cocteau was inspired by the Greek mythology, also with illusions to the French Riviera: Fishermen of Villefranche and their nets, the sea urchin, the fougasse (the bread of Nice).

LOVE | Dehui Tea Space by Space Modification Unit

“DeHui Tea Space is situated amidst one of Beijing's remaining central Hutong neighbourhoods. Sandwiched between delivery service hubs, it sits still in contrast to the busy surrounding, among a pack of delivery tricycles that regularly flood the fronting parking lot.The facade frames the view inward to intimate spaces for contemplation and friend gathering. 

Referencing the circle, as symbol of harmony, fulfilment and oneness in Chinese Culture, the design intends to offer a mindful and contemporary aesthetics approach whilst softening the rigid rectangular grid of the existing structure. The open spaces are defined by white linen, sitting within a Zen scape of white pebble stone and plants. The intimate atmosphere encourages for gentle conversation and tea appreciation.”

LOVE | Mini balconies

I’m not even sure what these are called. I think they’re cute. They allow doors to be open to let air in or the potential to put plants on to have your own garden whilst living in an apartment.

These spaces bring many advantages to a design such as increased natural light and improved ventilation conditions, while providing occupants with direct access to the outside and to nature.
