Beatings from Nie Mingjue and the kick down Carp Tower had been bad enough that it took a while to return to his room. It wasn't until he collapsed that Jin Guangyao realized he needed help.
When he wakes, he's back in the Unclean, and he is addressed as Nie Furen. Shocked and confused, Jin Guangyao insists he never married Nie Mingjue, but everyone insists that not only is he Nie Furen, but that his son, now called Nie Rusong, is alive as well. This isn't his world, and he has to get back home before everything goes south.
