I spotted this BJD at a doll fair 2 years ago and after walking past the vendor’s table about 3 times, I made up my mind that she was too cute not to get.

She’s spent the past 2 years in storage since I didn’t feel skilled and/or brave enough to customize her.

But then ☝️I got tickets to @/ukbjdcon and decided to use this as a motivation to customize my only BJD and have her fit the “By The Sea” theme.

So, one month ago, having never attempted a doll wig or a face-up before, I decided to give it a try… on a doll head the size of my thumb 🤦‍♀️

This is my first 12th scale doll post, but it certainly won’t be the last. I love the Magic Mixies Pixlings and I really want to restyle them all at some point.

Halloween is the busiest time of the year when you’re a witch🔮

Here is Sorya wearing a dress and accessories made by me - I learned to crochet just so I could make the fishnet accessories.

The diorama came together thanks to loads of talented people. The manequin is courtesy of @/mecha.lex ‘s amazing painting skills, the Halloween cakes are from @/wyrdworldminiatures and the spook-tacular bookcase is a @/dead_small_miniatures creation. I assembled the bags and the books from printables created by @/aninka_miller. Last but not least, the wall art is from @/the_spoops comic.

Working on this doll photo shoot was a true crafting marathon and I truly enjoyed putting together every detail - although the late nights got me feeling a bit like Sorya in the second picture 😆

Behold: the vanity project ✨💖✨

I transformed my Wildlife 2009 Yasmin doll into a mini-me using the power of...all the curlers I own 😂 I'm definitely going to take more pictures of her, the full magnificence of her curls needs to be shown.

Even my dolls collect dolls 😅 Poppy (Funk Out Yasmin) just got 4 of her grails as Christmas presents 🎁

I'd been wanting to give Poppy a makeover since last Christmas, but the whole ordeal of curling saran hair kept putting me off. She ended up spending a whole night in the freezer to make sure the curls set properly 😂

I don't only collect Bratz, this is a pretty diverse doll environment ... where everyone loves donuts 😜
