Making this house a little more whimsical one step at a time.

I've been wanting to try one of their plastic, snap-together kits, but one of the wooden ones came up on Vine so I grabbed it.

It's definitely a beginner-friendly kit. Everything is cut well, most everything fits easily, there's no cutting for the paper parts, they're already cut etc.

It's a no-glue kit with two sheets of double sided tape. I spent the most time fighting with the tape because it wasn't cut well and sometimes wouldn't separate from the sheet or it's neighboring pieces. I did end up using 100% of the tape.

There are a couple places where glue would have helped.

The only tools are some really crappy plastic tweezers and a little square of sand paper. I didn't need the sandpaper much.

I only had one area where the parts would NOT fit together. It's a little tray of cookies that's in the photo-right window. I ended up taping the sides on. I did snap one of those sides but not all the way through so it's fine. I also snapped one of the super thin window frames, but it's also holding together well because of the clear plastic taped to the back of it.

These did NOT snap while I was trying to remove them from their sprue, it was while I was trying to push parts together. The sprues are cut very neatly and everything popped out easily, even the big, awkward store front piece.

The kit says it takes 1.5 hours and I think it took me about two because I kept having to change the way the tape was used so there wouldn't be exposed areas that would get dusty later, and I'm clumsy.

I say it's a good introductory kit because the most tedious thing was the very first thing, and it wasn't that bad. That was wrapping little, brown, plastic balls in gold foil to make wrapped chocolates.

There was a considerable amount of trash in the end, and honestly I could have thrown those tweezers in there, too. They're not great.
