I recently bought my first bamboo straw here in Da Nang, Vietnam and I absolutely love it! During my last semester of college, I took a course called “Environmental Ethics” which really made me think about how much plastic I consume, especially now that I live abroad. I started to notice that everyday I purchased a minimum of 2 to-go drinks, each served with a plastic straw. I thought to myself how I’m contributing to the problem of too much plastic waste and how I could easily make a change. I’ve compiled this list of 10 reasons why I switched to bamboo straws and why you should too.
