Thanks for 30k; Goodbye, Tumblr (for now)
Hello, everybody, it’s yah gurl, Lem lol.
I want to start this by saying a huge Thank you for reaching 30K followers on here, just wow.
That’s a crazy number, that when I first started on here 7 years ago I always wondered if I would someday reach, but never thought I actually would, but here I am! It’s been a crazy ride on here, sharing my art with you all and answering your questions and interacting with all of you. I deeply appreciate it to no end, and ive enjoyed my years on here.
It’s the end of the decade, and as such it is a time to reflect, but also a time for coming change.
As you may have noticed, over the past year, I’ve steadily declined in posting content. This has been for a number of reasons, but mainly a deep depression I fell into after Kameha Con. It was a long miserable period of self-doubt, anhedonia, and loss of inspiration and motivation for art. The fire I had for my passion for art had died, and it caused me great strain and apathy for a large portion of 2019. There were many times I questioned if art was even the right path for me, and that perhaps it was time to give it up and pursue something different.
But after this long stressful year, and with a much needed break from posting art, I’ve finally settled into a state of peace and acceptance, and have made some decisions.
I’ve finally rekindled my love for art again, and I still plan on drawing much more art in the future, but in 2020 I plan on leaving the fanart world and DBZ community behind, after I finish Saiya Moon, and a few other DBZ related projects. Being in and contributing to the DBZ community for so many years has brought a lot of joy to my heart, and has opened many opportunities to me I never thought possible by simply drawing Vegeta and Goku and stuff like that lol. But I feel in me my love for DBZ has passed, and it’s time to move on to bigger things, and personal projects I’ve put on the shelf for far too long. 2020 is the year I finally start developing and sharing my true OC content, which I’ve been drawing more and more in my free time, not for sharing atm, but just for myself. Im ready to move on and leave DBZ, Goku, Vegeta, and the others behind me after I finish Saiya Moon and few other DBZ projects.
So, what does that mean for my tumblr account? With a heavy heart, I’ve also decided to leave Tumblr behind and will no longer be updating this account, at least for the time being. I’ve switched over mostly to Twitter @lemdraws and am much more active there, so if you’d still like to follow my content, please follow me there.
I’ve enjoyed my years here. Ive grown up a lot since I first started here, and have learned many things, improved as an artist, and have met many friends from here too. I will always be grateful for all the years and love I received on Tumblr, as it’s where I first started. 💖
