LMAOOOOOO
Okay but for anyone who legit wants to know how to calculate it correctly:
The elbow joint on average rests a couple inches higher than the navel, so if you measure how long the distance is from the middle of the shoulder to that point then you have the length of the upper and fore arms!
So if anyoneâs wondering about legs too, the simplest rule of thumb is that the length from the top of the leg to the knee is equal to the distance between the top of the leg and the bottom of the pectorals:
And I wanna stress that when i say âtop of the legâ iâm not talking about the crotch (please donât flag me tumblr itâs an anatomical term) iâm talking about the point where the femur connects to the pelvis, which is higher up on the hips:
Itâs easier to see what Iâm talking about in this photo of a man squatting:Â
So yeah if you use that measurement when using this technique you should get fairly realistically proportioned legs:
But remember! messing with proportions is an important and fun part of character design! Know the rules first so you can then break them however you please!
HOW THE HELL DID I FIND THIS POST OMG
Licherally in the midst of drawing a guy and crying at how bad the arms are. Thanks Tumbles
I only ever saw the part where people started drawing the limbs outrageously long and genuinely wanted to know how to fix that, so Iâm really thankful to see the rest.
Love this
Natural Black Hair Tutorial! Usually Black hair is excluded in the hair tutorials which I have seen so I have gone through it in depth because itâs really not enough to tell someone simply, âBlack hair is really curly, draw it really curly.âÂ
The next part of Black Hair In Depth will feature styles and ideas for designing characters and I will release it around February. If you would like to see certain styles, please shoot me a message!

Write a story about magical girls meeting the worldâs first magical boy⌠with no romance subplots.
They train and protect him. He's new amongst the ranks and so innocent. He has no idea about the horrors that most magical girls see. Since he'd new he gets low level threats. Some of the girls start acting like his mom. They interrogate all his dates, making sure they are safe. He has a habit of going out with criminals with out knowing. A mobster, a monster, a witch, and of all the ones he could have dated he chooses the ones with warrants for their arrest. So the magical girls capture, and on rare occasions destroy, his dates. Most of the time his dates have already fallen hard for him so when they get taken away they yell back "Wait for me John!" Cause they'll either serve their time or break out.
But there's one person he dates, that do normal and nice that the girls don't mess with their dates. He thinks that finally the girls a prove of someone he's dating. And they do. But he's happy about finally dating some one normal, and not another criminal. And they date for a while and the girls can't find anything on the person. No dirt, no arrests, no tickets, he's completely clean. One or them ends up giving the date a shovel talk.
"Who are you? Their mother? I don't need to take this from you." They're rude. And the magical girl doesn't like it, doesn't like them. But they can't do anything because there's no real reason that John can't date them.
Everyone tells her to drop it. He finally picked a good one and to just level them be. But what can she say, she's over protective. She's a high level magical girl and she's seen things. Horrible things. John is like a little brother to her.
Then one day she's on a recon mission at a major enemy's dwelling, and who does she see walk out but none other than John's date. She freaks out thinking that they're cheating, when the main baddy walks out and tells them to take care and drive safe. To which they respond with "ok, don't worry. I got it /DAD/".
Do know she's at a cross road. Tell John the love of his life is evil and break his heart for maybe ever. Or let him date an enemy, and forget you ever saw them.

For artists who have problems with perspective (furniture etc.) in indoor scenes like me - thereâs an online programm called roomsketcher where you can design a house/roon and snap pictures of it using different perspectives.
Itâs got an almost endless range of furniture, doors, windows, stairs etc and is easy to use. In addition to that, you donât have to install anything and if you create an account (which is free) you can save and return to your houses.
Examples (all done by me):

Halo! A friend of mine asked me to teach him the Gobelinsâ way to animate a turn around, so I drew this tutorial. I thought maybe you guys might be interested too c:
watercolor tips and tricks
some tips and tricks that have seriously helped me in excelling at watercolour
1. PAPER WEIGHT. for the love of god do not use any paper under 110-120 lbs to paint with watercolour, a very VERY wet medium that will soak clean through the paper if itâs not thick enough (most paper pads sold at craft stores have the weight listed on them. printer paper is around 20 lbs, sketch pads will be about 60 lbs, IDEAL watercolour paper 140 lbs+). i use only 140 lb paper for my serious watercolour works. canson and strathmore are my favourite brands
2. thereâs no need to have very expensive watercolour paints, but it is important to use something better than crayola. my dad gave me a 24-pan windsor&newton watercolour set when i was 8 and these are still the paints i use today (i was a very careful child, but i never even had to replace my paint pans after almost 10 years either, so this brand, while super expensive, lasts and earns my gold star.) some other cheaper options are: x and x
3. if youâre going to be using watercolours, prepare to use WATER. so many people forget this, but itâs so important to realise this media is meant to look translucent, so you should see the paper through the paint. if you canât see it, then youâre using the paints as if theyâre gouache or acrylics, so try using more water and work with lighter colours.
OKAY NOW FOR THE ACTUAL TRICKS
4. SALT
quite overused in watercolour but itâs so freaking cool it can be pardoned. *remember for all of these effects, you have to use lots of water with the paint for it to work!
5. ALCOHOL/VODKA/HAND SANITIZER IF YOUâRE LAZY LIKE ME
you have to be very careful here because the second image can turn into the first if you use too much alcohol and it soaks through the water and paint gets in the spot, so be sure to experiment plenty before using this!!
but yeah you can use whatever clear alcohol you can find and it does p much the same thing
6. LIGHT SKIN TONES
okay while the darker skin tones are more easily achievable with browns and additional yellows/blues/reds to bring out the undertone, light skintones are hard as hell to make with watercolour because itâs hard to even think of what to mix. think no more!
YELLOW OCHRE + ANY PURPLE = perfect skintone you can play around with. adding more of yellow or purple will give you either cool or warm skin tones you can build up on and layer until theyâre the proper value. remember to use purple/cool shadows with skin in compositions with normal lighting!
7. PAYNEâS GREY
and finally to repeat my previous post, use PAYNEâS GREY instead of black for a richer, darker colour in your painting. donât use black unless your entire composition has warm colours, but even then, try to use a very dark brown instead of black.
8. WHITE
finally, itâs very important to mention this: never use the white watercolour they sometimes give you. EVER. EVER. dilute your paint with water instead to get a lighter value, or else youâre not using watercolour to its full extent (which is something you might struggle with if youâre used to using acrylics or oil)
â
thatâs all i can think of at the top of my head, but if you have any questions or need further brand recommendations etc, feel free to message me!

For all the writers out there. Please reblog this!
Youâre a misunderstood villain who only wants to be a hero. Your ability is the only thing stopping you from being a super hero.
Death, destruction and decay. That's all there is to it. When people see my power they run in fear, and rightfully so. With a touch, a wave, or an emotion I can turn steel beams to rust dust. It's as if whatever's in my way ages into nothing.
Is it my fault that when I tried to help it made things worse? It's taken so long to get used to this power, let alone attempt to control it. "Heros" come after me and expect me /not/ to freak out?
"Why do you do this?" They ask, as they try to catch me. They haven't figured out a way yet, and fear the day they stop trying. I've told the Heros countless times before that "I can't help it" and that "I'd stop if I could", but I don't think they believe me or understand I'm not being sarcastic.
The more I'm chased, the higher my emotions go, and the more I destroy. Cities and banks that fear destruction have opened accounts in my name. I have money as long as they think I've stay far away.
Not that people ever know who I am. Rumors are a powerful thing that spurs many imaginations to add to a story till its unrecognizable. As death incarnate, no one recognizes me unless they've seen my powers before. Very few have servived that. So the image everyone has, is of a monster who's very form matches the strength it must take to level a city.
At (almost) 5 feet tall , I'm usually one of the least intimidating things in the room. Maybe that's where part of the problem lies. When your short people think they can push you around or take advantage of you, until they wind up hurt or dead....
⊠⊠âŠ
Years later:
I've managed to control the decay inside. If I concentrate I can let it out in shots or surround my hand. I've honed my skills to be something else. Something special.
All it takes is a mask and a name, and then you can become someone else. Now I've got a new reputation as the most efficient assassin around. Investigators never find a wepon, nor can they ever tell what type was used. Sometimes people just keel over and it's usually reported as an organ failure of some kind.
I'm known for having something of a moral code as I usual take out bad people. I remember telling a client 'Show me their wrongs, and I'll show you their body.'
I guess word's gotten round about the type of work I do, cause I'm standing in an alley facing hero's I've met before. I guess they've come to take me in... until one tosses me an envelope. It's a large orange one and it's quite full.
"We've got a proposition" one of the tall hero's in the front says.
I raise my eyebrow, open the package and pull out a folder that's titled "Target Information". Now they've got my attention and my interest, so I nod for them to keep talking.
"We need your help taking out this threat" I hear another say as I open the folder and start going through clippings and photos. I freeze as I realize the target is me. The most recent pictures are from an "attack" years ago.
"We are done trying to bring them down or put them away. A villain this powerful can not be aloud to live and roam around free."
At first I was afraid that they had found me and this was all a trap, but then I realized they were actual trying to hire me. They want me, to kill myself... er another version of me? But they didn't know that, so I was safe. For now.
