Arvo Pärt: ‘Spiegel im Spiegel’ [Vladimir Spivakov, violin - Arvo Pärt, Piano]
I first heard this flying (or perhaps suspended) across the Atlantic to Paris. It was 4 a.m. and everyone on the plane was asleep - there was only this music and a floating blackness outside the window. Indelible.

T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land
We are the hollow men We are the stuffed men Leaning together Headpiece filled with straw. Alas! Our dried voices, when We whisper together Are quiet and meaningless As wind in dry grass Or rats’ feet over broken glass In our dry cellar Shape without form, shade without colour, Paralysed force, gesture without motion;

Pieter Bruegel the Elder - The Triumph of Death (с. 1562)
Oh I didn't see your answer for a while, I was the one who asked about written works. Novels focusing on small things I guess they do they're the lives that most people live I suppose and that sort of stuff can be swept away in the big stuff. I suppose there are other genres though they still keep with unhappy marriages and the like. Even with fantasy and mysteries but with mysteries you usually learn about the after effects.
A while indeed. I would expect mortals to act more promptly.
Yes, yes, I suppose they might be considered relatable or some such, but where is the drama, the magic, the sense of high stakes? Perhaps I am simply missing something.
I have been enjoying some of the...epic poetry? It has its own idiosyncrasies, but it is more - well, I suppose it is more familiar. Perhaps that is the trouble. Though I would like to think I can recognize when difference is improvement, and I must say this does not seem like improvement.
The innovation in film and television has thus far been much more impressive to me.
My, it has been quiet here, hasn’t it?
Life goes on, I suppose. Interesting how that works, isn’t it? I am currently appreciating the slight break in the heat, though it does not seem likely to last long. Truly summer is an abominable season.
I have recently learned about what are apparently called “Pleistocene megafauna” and am frankly astonished that is not something more people are preoccupied with. Certain of the creatures make me wonder how much crossover there may have been between Realms in the distant past. Perhaps they were once closer together, linked more often and more closely than simply during the Convergence. Something worthy of study, or it would be if I had any of the necessary materials, which I do not.
I do not much care for the rest of Asgard, but I would like to have use of Asgard’s library.
