their ass isn't suffering because it's unrequited, it's because they think both Noelle and Susie are going to be better off together than with them.

Noelle literally says she doesn't feel like """running away""" with Susie in her life, and Susie says Noelle makes her have the best days she can have.

kris isn't screwed because it's unrequited, it's because they think they've solved Susie and Noelle's problems (which they may feel like they caused) by getting them together and now they aren't needed anymore.

like telling a story that reveals your heart, whether you want it to or not? sooner or later if you're writing something you realize your story and OC's reveal more about you than you meant to.

in Chapter 5's Kris Dark Fountain, the story it had was:

nostalgia for chapter 1 (relateable kris moment)

people with very little time to create themselves or forge relationships choosing to be friends or siblings or sparring partners or lovers and/or cowboys because that's what they wanted their story to be

people really wanting to discuss Susie's love life. like everyone here will not leave her alone about this dfgdfgf

a ragebaiting twink who is infuriatingly better than you at everything but also sincere in his beliefs who wants you to stop playing by the rules (and inexplicably, knows them all and how to break them)

said twink openly questions Kris's motivations in front of their friends and tries to encourage their independence from them

an ending with an inevitable death and the disappearance of brief but cherished ego
